Sinclair Flops a Straight

Last year's Main Event 8th place finisher Jack Sinclair has been involved in the early action but currently sits with the same amount he started the day with after playing back-to-back pots.

In the first hand, Sinclair went to battle with Mathijs Jonkers. The pair took a friendly picture together for social media before play got underway but once the cards were in the air, it was all business.

The flop was down , and Jonkers checked before the players stared at each other intently, and Sinclair bet 2,000. Jonkers made the call, and both players checked on turn. When the river came the , Jonkers check-called a 3,000 bet from Sinclair, and the latter turned over for queen-high. Jonkers turned over for ace-high and took the pot.

In the next hand, Sinclair was up against two opponents on a flop and bet 2,500. One player called and the other folded as the turn came the . Sinclair's 4,000 bet was called, and on the river, Sinclair saw his 7,000 bet called.

Ivey Takes One Out

Arne Comis raised to 1,600 from the early position and was called by Andrew Boccia (mid-position), Keith Lutz (hijack), Phil Ivey (cutoff) and Jasvel Saigal in the big blind.

The flop came , both Saigal and Comis checked. Boccia bet 5,500, Lutz looked at his cards once more and then folded. Ivey called. Saigal decided to shove and Comis now quickly folded. Boccia looked at Saigal and asked for a count. The ESPN camera crew quickly came over to the table as they saw that a pot was developing on Ivey's table.

The dealer confirmed the all-in was for 16,600 in total. Boccia called and so did Ivey.

They both checked through the on the turn to the on the river. Boccia checked and Ivey looked at the board. He then glanced at Boccia and bet 20,000. Boccia tanked, after about two or three minutes, he removed the card protector and looked at his cards again. He then reluctantly folded.
