A Winner Will be Crowned in Event #76: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E.

John Hennigan
John Hennigan

In the final mixed game event of the 2018 World Series of Poker, there will be 19 players looking to finish their campaign on a high note in Event #76: $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. At this point, they are all guaranteed $6,524 but everyone will have their sights set on the $233,202 first-place prize and the WSOP gold bracelet that goes along with it.

When the players return to their seats for the third and final day of this event, Brian Hastings will carry the chip lead after bagging an impressive 667,000 chips after Day 2. Hastings is a three-time bracelet winner already but will be looking for his first of the summer in a stacked field of mixed-game specialists.

While most of the attention will be given to the Main Event final table taking place with just three players remaining, there is another storyline being followed throughout the summer that could have major implications based on the results of this tournament. John Hennigan is in a heated race with Shaun Deeb for the 2018 WSOP Player of the Year title. Hennigan will also be returning for Day 3 with 361,000 chips which is nothing to bat an eye at. He has already wrapped up one title this summer in the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. event and will be looking for another one today to keep pace with Deeb.

Some other notables to keep an eye on as the day unfolds include Jeff Madsen (416,000), Bruno Fitoussi (382,000), Dutch Boyd (347,000), Carol Fuchs, (132,000), and Jeff Lisandro (51,000). The action will get underway at 2:00 p.m. local time inside the Rio All-Suites and Casino at the start of level 21. The limits will resume at 12,000/24,000, leaving not much room for the short stacks to play around.

The levels will continue at 60-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There will be a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day. Here is a look at the seat draw for the start of the day, with a new redraw being done at 16 players and at 9 players for the unofficial final table.
