Chanthabouasy Doubles Up

Nível 8 : 250/500, 100 ante

A player raised and Steve Chanthabouasy moved his last chips in the middle for 6,125. After some consideration, his opponent made the call and both players tabled their cards.

Steve Chanthabouasy: {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
His opponent: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Chanthabouasy had the dominating hand and a board {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} gave at first a pair of jacks to his opponent but the turn saved him, giving him a pair of aces and the double up.

Gaelle Baumann opened to 1,000 and the button player, as well as the big blind, made the call. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} and after a check, Baumann continued for 1,300. Only the player on the button called.

The turn fell a {9-Spades} and Baumann fired 4,000. It was enough to win the pot without more resistance and Baumann is now up to a stack of 21,000.

Lucky Hand for Diehl

Nível 8 : 250/500, 100 ante

The two players were already all in when we got to the table. According to the players, Matthew Diehl three-bet his opponent's preflop raise and the latter called. On a flop of {9-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}, Diehl called his opponent's bet.

Things heated up on the {a-Diamonds} turn. Diehl raised all-in over the top of his opponent bet and the latter called. Holding {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, Diehl was in desperate shape to win the hand, facing his opponent's {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}t, but a {j-Hearts} on the river saved Diehl, giving him quad jacks. His unfortunate opponent was sent into the rail.

A first player opened to 1,000 and Romain Lewis decided to push all his stack in the middle for 6,550. The action folded back to the initial raiser who thought about for a minute and made the call to create the following showdown:

Romain Lewis: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
His opponent: {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Lewis has the dominating hand, and the board {6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs} didn't change anything, but a {q-Clubs} gave a straight to his opponent who eliminated Lewis from the tournament. "Oops!" said the winner while grabbing the chips.
