Babayev Spikes a Jack to Double Through Palma

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

It folded around to Nick Palma on the button who raised to 7,000 and Jake Schwartz folded his small blind. With the action on Emin Babayev in the big blind he moved all-in for 72,000 and Palma called.

Emin Babayev: {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Nick Palma: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Palma had Babayev dominated and was in great shape to score the knockout but there was a jack in the window for Babayev on the {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. "There's a river card for a reason" said Palma but the {4-Hearts} turn and {9-Spades} river sealed the deal for Babayev who doubled up.

A player in late position raised to 7,000 and Andreas Klatt moved all-in from the small blind for 56,000. It folded back to the player who called turning over {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} but Klatt did one better showing {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The board ran out clean for Klatt {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and his pocket eights held up to earn him the double-up.

Serebryany Appeals to the Poker Gods

Nível 15 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Larry Serebryany just moved all in for 32,000 under the gun and found a caller to his immediate left. Once everyone else had moved aside, the two players turned over their holdings.

Larry Serebryany: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

On seeing how big a dog he was, Serebryany looked up and appealed to the Poker Gods, promising to do 100 push-ups if he could find a four on the board.

Someone must have been listening as the flop brought out {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, giving Serebryany quads and the hand was all but his. By the {2-Clubs} turn, it was locked up and the {6-Spades} river was irrelevant.

Serebryany hasn't done the 100 push-ups yet but he promises he will. Pokernews will be sure to keep you updated on when that happens.
