Mercier Finds Another Double

Nível 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

The player in early position opened to 1,600. The player in middle position called. Action folded to Natasha Mercier in the big blind. The dealer was about to accidentally muck her hand, but she saved it, and after peeking at her cards, moved all in for 10,000. The original raiser was the only caller.

Natasha Mercier: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

''Dealer, I wish you mucked my hand,'' commented Mercier.

But Mercier was wrong as the dealer spread a flop of {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} giving her a full house. The {7-Clubs} turn and {q-Hearts} river completed the board and Mercier doubled up.

Friedman Felted

Nível 9 : 300/600, 100 ante

Adam Friedman was in middle position and got his stack in on a flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} against the player on his left.

Adam Friedman: {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

Friedman had flopped straight and flush draws but needed to improve against his opponent's top pair top kicker in order to win the pot. The {6-Diamonds} turn and {7-Hearts} river were no help to Friedman, so his opponent took the pot to stack him.

Loeser Doubles Up

Nível 9 : 300/600, 100 ante

Late registration just closed, and Manig Loeser was among the last-minute entries. He shoved from middle position for 7,500 and action folded around to the big blind.

"Where you from, man? You Euro?" asked the big blind.

"I'll tell you after you act," said Loeser with a smile.

As soon as the big blind called to put Loeser at risk, he said "Germany" as the two players tabled their hands.

Manig Loeser: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Big blind: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The big blind had the preflop edge and Loeser needed to improve in order to double up. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs} to give Loeser trip queens and he took the pot to double up.
