Gavin Finds a Double Up

Nível 8 : 300/600, 0 ante

With three players involved in the hand, the flop was showing {3-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} when the player in small blind checked and Alexis Gavin bet 4,200. After some time in the tank, only the player in the hijack called.

The turn was a {6-Clubs} and Gavin shoved all in for his last 5,500, putting her opponent into a big decision. Her opponent said he was holding a straight and, after some minutes, ended up calling.

Gavin tabled {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades} for the flush and her opponent showed {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}. Gavin had the winning hand and she is now up to 21,400.

Quad Fives for Santoro

Nível 9 : 400/800, 0 ante
Dan Santoro
Dan Santoro

Dan Santoro was dragging in a massive pot and a player at the table gave us a rundown on the action.

Santoro was all in for 41,700 preflop holding {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against the player on the button and the short-stacked small blind who was all in for less.

"I had bad kings and the button had bad aces," said the small blind. The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Santoro improved to quad fives, more than doubling his chip stack in the process of sending the small blind to the rail.

A player in early position raised to 1,800 and Scott Clements called from the cutoff. The big blind called and they went three handed to the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop. The big blind led out with a bet of 5,000 and Clements called.

They went heads up to the {4-Spades} turn card and both players checked. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and again both players knuckled the felt. "Queens" announced the player in the big blind.

"Two pair" said Clements turning over his {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for nines and sevens and his opponent fired his hand into the muck.
