Randy Holland Bags the Biggest Stack of Day 1b in Event #11: $365 PLO GIANT

The second flight of Event #11: $365 PLO GIANT Pot-Limit Omaha has concluded at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. A total of 523 entries created a prizepool of $156,900 with this flight, with 31 of those runners finding a bag and moving on to Day 2. The chipleader at the end of the day is two-time bracelet winner Randy Holland with a stack of 1,445,000.

Holland spent most of the day a little above average stack but soared after a hand with Jason Zarlenga. Zarlenga pushed all in on the flop and Holland called to create a big pot late in the day. Zalenga had flopped a straight while Holland held a set, and the board paired on the turn to ship the big pot over to Holland. He continued to push that stack around for the last couple levels of the night and ended the day with the chip lead.

There were many notable stacks moving on to day 2 with Daniel Smith being the only other person to hit the million mark for the night with 1,185,000. Other remaining players moving on with healthy stacks from this flight included Ayaz Mahmood (695,000), Tuyen Nguyen (655,000), Craig Chait (635,000), Matthew Palmucci (570,000), Sandeep Vasudevan (520,000), and the only other person with a bracelet left in the field, Calen McNeil (215,000).

The money bubble popped just after the beginning of level 17 and everyone remaining was guaranteed at least $557 for their efforts. Players who bagged will have the option of forfeiting their stack and try to cash another flight with a bigger stack. All remaining money that did not get paid out tonight will be carried over to the final prize pool.

Plenty of well-known pros in the field did not make it through, including Jeff Gross, Mohsin Charania, Joey Weissman, Matt Stout, Scott Clements, Chris Ferguson,Dominik Nitsche and Bart Lybaert. These players will still have the last three remaining flights to try and spin up a stack before day 2.
