Kuether Krushing

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Joe Kuether has more than double the stack he started with. We didn’t catch the action but he inflicted heavy damage on another players stack a couple of hands before and she was eliminated when she raised all in with {8-}{8-} and ran into {k-}{k-}. The final board couldn’t help her come from behind and the remains of her stack were gone just before the first break.

Smith Takes on Galfond

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Derrik Smith opened to 250 from the hijack seat and Phil Galfond called from the button. Smith led out for 600 on the {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop and Galfond quickly folded.

Not the most exciting of hands but it gives us the opportunity to update you with some chips counts of players seated near Galfond and Smith.

Ho Flops Trips

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught the action on a flop of {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Maria Ho was first to act from the big blind and bet 1,200. Her heads-up opponent raised to 3,500 and Ho made the call.

Both players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the turn and {9-Spades} on the river. Ho flipped over {a-Spades}{6-Clubs} and her opponent mucked.

Even Tuthill Loves Raymond

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Over at one of the secondary feature tables, David Tuthill opened for 400 from middle position and action folded to Ray Romano in the small blind. The comedian from Everybody Loves Raymond fame bounced his cards up and down before announcing a three-bet to 1,100. The big blind folded, and Tuthill made a cheerful call.

The {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} flop saw Romano lead out for 1,200, and Tuthill called to see the {K-Diamonds} turn, which they both checked. When the {7-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Romano bet 1,500 and Tuthill conceded the hand.

"Alright, I'm going to let you off the hook," Tuthill said before showing the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Romano smiled and then showed he had been well out in front the entire time with the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}.

Despite losing that hand, Tuthill is still up from the starting stack.

First Break of the Day; Several Bust Outs, '96 Champ Among Leaders

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante
Huck Seed
Huck Seed

We've arrived at the first break on Day 1b of the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event, and there have already been several eliminations.

The first came at the hands of Derrik Smith, who six-bet shoved over Mark Hodos with pocket {a-}{a-}. Hodos had {k-}{k-}, and the aces held up.

Huck Seed was faced with an all-in bet from Yang Bian on a board of {4-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and Seed, thinking they were chopping, called with the nuts; {j-Spades}{10-Spades}. Seed, winner of the 1996 Main Event, thought he was getting freerolled by {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, but Bian was drawing dead with {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for just top pair.

Seed is among our chip leaders with around double the starting stack.

Dan Shak took his leave after being crippled with {a-}{k-} against the {a-}{a-} of an opponent. He was later eliminated with pocket jacks against {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

The players are on break for 20 minutes - smoke 'em if you got 'em!
