Pilgrim's Plunder

Nível 7 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dwyte Pilgrim and Paul Wasicka
Dwyte Pilgrim and Paul Wasicka

Dwyte Pilgrim has his stack up close to 50k and isn't running too bad here.

We saw him get it all in pre-flop against two opponents. One had {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and the other {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Pilgrim was sitting on {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and after a board of {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} he helped bust one player and chopped the pot with the other.

Hellmuth Chopped

Nível 7 : 150/300, 25 ante

Phil Hellmuth continues to run his mouth regularly, even while in hands.

He stomped on an early position limper making it 700. The limper called and check-called an 800-chip bet on the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop. The limper checked the {q-Diamonds} turn and Hellmuth spoke up.

"Let me just do a little diamond check here," he said. "OK...check...he probably has eight-nine or something."

The river came the {4-Diamonds} and after they both checked, Hellmuth's opponent spoke up.

"I have an ace with a nine," he said, turning over {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

"You have an ace with a nine?" Hellmuth asked, turning over {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} for virtually the same hand.

James Dempsey
James Dempsey

WSOP Bracelet Winner James Dempsey has been sent broke in this event.

After building a stack early, he told PokerNews he lost every pot imaginable in every way conceivable before shoving 20 big blinds with {5-}{5-} and getting looked up by {a-}{a-}.

On to the next one, as they say.

Keating Cleans Up

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Alex Keating won a decent pot, busted a player and had to wait three hands to stack his chips.

After a check from his heads up opponent, he shipped it in on a ten-high flop.

According to Keating, the player asked him if he wanted him to call. Keating said if you have a pair you're good and the player made the call with {a-}{k-}. Keating had {a-}{10-} and after the board bricked out, he sent the player home.

The floor then handed Keating a three hand penalty for discussing his hand during action. By the time he came back to the table it was breaking.

Williams Makes the Call

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

David Williams opened for 850 in middle position and saw the player to his left shove all in for about 6,500 more. Action folded back to Williams, who tanked for about a minute and muttered a few things we couldn't hear before tossing in a call.

Williams: {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The flop ended the drama: {a-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, meaning Williams could only lose to runner-runner. The {9-Hearts} turn officially ended things.

Maridu Hollywooding

Nível 8 : 200/400, 50 ante

Maria Mayrinck has a big stack in front of her courtesy of The Notebook and Alpha Dog director Nick Cassavetes.

The Hollywood hotshot missed all his backdoor draws against her flopped set of nines and Mayrinck sent him packing. Since then she says she's been grinding it up throughout the day and is feeling rather confident.

She also said she didn't cry while watching the The Notebook, a tearjerker chick-flick based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, making her one of the few people in the room who can truly claim that.
