Good Start For "The Raiser"

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Ian "The Raiser" Frazer is in the Black section in Pavilion today. We just walked by his table to see him check-call 300 on a {9-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts} flop, then surrender on the turn when his opponent tossed in a purple T500 chip.

The Brit is still off to a good start, though, and already has 5,000 chips.

Only 100 To Go For the Record

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

We are about 10 minutes into the second level of play and 4,319 players are showing on the screens, thus we only need another 100 to break the record from last year. Almost five levels of late registration remain, so this should be doable for sure.

Raiser's Edge

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Ian "The Raiser" Frazer raised under the gun for 100 on his 10-handed table (as most of them are at this point) and got called by the small blind and the big blind.

The three players saw a flop of {6-Hearts}{q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The gentleman in the small blind led out for 300, the big blind folded, and Frazer made the call.

The turn was the {6-Spades} and Frazer called another bet of 500 this time. The river card was the {10-Clubs} and it was checked to Frazer who bet 675. That got a quick call, but when Frazer turned over his {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for trips his opponemt stared open-mouthed at it for a moment before slamming his cards down in the muck.

“Wow. You raised under the gun with that?” one of the other players remarked. He sure did.

Zolotow Busts

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

Steve Zolotow is a loquacious and entertaining character in the game so we thought we would stop by his table to catch a bit of what he was regaling his table with.

Unfortunately when we got to his table there was an empty chair where he had been sitting. One of the other players filled us in on what happened.

Zolotow had {j-}{j-} and his opponent had {a-}{a-}. Zolotow flopped a set on {j-}{10-}{7-} but the turn {q-} and river {k-} gave his opponent Broadway and Zolotow was out.

Peisert Is Gone

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

The former seat of WSOP Bracelet winner Jorg Peisert was occupied by someone else and two gentlemen on the table confirmed that the German had been eliminated. He ran with pocket threes into eights to hit the rail and the Triple Chance No-Limit Hold’em champion from 2009 cannot take a second chance in this event anymore.

Decent Start For Boatman

Nível 2 : 25/50, 0 ante

We just passed by the table of Barny Boatman and the Brit has already more than doubled his starting stack. He even missed out on a potential elimination after raising to 125 and both blinds defended to see the {J-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Spades} flop. The lady in the big blind check-called 175 and both then checked down the {7-Clubs} turn and the {J-Diamonds} river.

Boatman thought that his ace was good for sure when tabling {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for the busted flush draw, but the big blind showed {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a pair of sevens on the turn. If a heart comes, Boatman likely gets the whole stack.
