Gionni Demers Eliminated in 20th Place ($302,005)

With no love on the river, Gionni Demers is out in 20th place.
With no love on the river, Gionni Demers is out in 20th place.

Action folded to Gionni Demers on the button and he simply moved all in. The small blind got out of the way, but Konstantinos Mamaliadis snap-called from the big.

Showdown
Demer: {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Mamaliadis: {K-}{K-}

Demer was in trouble and needed some help, his best bet being an ace. The {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} was not what he was looking for, and neither was the {6-Spades} turn. In order to keep his 2011 Main Event hopes alive, Demers needed to catch an ace on the river. Unfortunately for him, the {7-Hearts} blanked and he was eliminated from the tournament in 20th place.

Aleksandr Mozhnyakov Eliminated in 19th Place ($302,005)

Nível 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Aleksandr Mozhnyakov - 19th place
Aleksandr Mozhnyakov - 19th place

It folded around to Sam Barnhart in the cutoff seat who raised to 560,000, then Aleksandr Mozhnyakov reraised all in for his last 1.525 million from the small blind. The big blind got out, and Barnhart made the call.

Mozhnyakov: {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Barnhart: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}

A couple of live cards for Mozhnyakov, but none of the five community cards would hit his hand, as they came {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Mozhnyakov is out in 19th, while Barnhart now has 6.245 million.

There will be a slight delay now as they redraw for the final two tables.

Makievskyi Over 30MM

Anton Makievskyi opened to 450,000 from the cutoff seat, Sam Barnhart called on the button, and both blinds released. The flop came down {2-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}, and both players checked. The turn was the {9-Diamonds}, Makievskyi fired 600,000, and Barnhart called.

The {2-Diamonds} completed the board, and Makievskyi slid out 1.1 million. Barnhart quickly folded, and Makievskyi added to his chip lead, becoming the first player with over 30 million chips.

Holden Holds and Doubles

Action folded to Ben Lamb in the small blind and he raised to 525,000. Samuel Holden reraised all in for 3.24 million and Lamb quickly called.

Lamb's {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} was dominated by the {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for the at-risk Holden. After the board ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Holden doubled up to 6.75 million in chips.

Staszko Starts Well

Nível 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

Martin Staszko has gotten off to a quick start here at the secondary feature table, taking the first two hands following the redraw.

On the first one, Staszko opened with a raise to 425,000 from the button and got a caller in Khoa Nguyen from the big blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn brought the {8-Hearts} and a couple more checks.

The river was the {Q-Clubs}. Nguyen checked, and Staszko didn't waste too much time before betting a hefty 1.08 million. Nguyen sat in thought, moving his chips around as he considered what to do. Finally Nguyen called.

Staszko showed {Q-}{6-} for queens and nines, and Nguyen mucked, dropping to about 11.5 million.

Staszko opened with a raise to 425,000 from the cutoff on the next hand as well, and claimed the blinds and antes. He's up to about 6.15 million.

Devonshire vs. Hewitt

Nível 32 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante

John Hewitt opened for 425,000 from middle position and action folded to Bryan Devonshire in the cutoff. He put out a reraise to 1.08 million, Hewitt four-bet to 2.1 million, and Devonshire announced that he was all in. No sooner did the words leave his lips than Hewitt flicked his cards to the muck.
