Howe Doubles Through Harder

Over on the feature table, Christian Harder raised to 60,000 before the flop and the action folded around to Jody Howe who called from the big blind to make it heads-up to the flop of {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

Harder opened for 70,000, but then re-raised all in over the top of Howe, who made it 195,000 to go. Howe snap-called all-in for 927,000 and the cards were tabled:

Howe: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Harder: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Despite having hit top pair, Howe was miles ahead with bottom set. Howe held as the turn and river ran out {K-Clubs}, {J-Clubs} and he's now up to more than two million in chips as a result. Harder is now on 960,000 in chips.

Woe is Wantman

Phil Collins is oh-so-close to the seven-million chip mark after eliminating Matthew Wantman from the ESPN feature table.

The action folded around to Collins who raised to 55,000 from the hijack position before Wantman shoved from the big blind for 378,000 holding {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Collins called, showing down {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}, but despite both players pairing up on the flop of {9-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Collins still had the lead.

Still, Wantman now had the flush outs, but the turn and river ran black ({4-Clubs}, {3-Clubs}) and Wantman's WSOP Main Event is over.

Time for the Machines

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Now that we're down to 117 players and 13 tables, the tournament staff has announced that all tables will now be using the automatic shufflers, which will no doubt give us even more hands per hour.

King Benjamin Feeling Royal

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Someone at the table opened the pot with a raise to 54,000, and both Doc Sands and Benjamin Logan called from their respective small and big blinds, three-handed to the flop.

It came {10-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} {J-Clubs}, and Logan check-called a bet from the raiser while Sands ducked out. The {9-Hearts} turn went check-check, and the river {7-Spades} saw the same action repeat.

At showdown, Logan could only show {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} for the Royal Flush. That's all. We can't even remember if the words "Royal Flush" are supposed to be capitalized or not, that's how infrequently we've seen it happen. It's the first of Logan's career, and it comes in the WSOP Main Event, boosting his stack up a bit to about 1.9 million.

Devonshire Fades, Flirting With 5MM

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Bryan Devonshire had Seth Davies all in and at risk.

Devonshire: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Davies: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Devonshire faded a diamond on the turn ({8-Clubs}), but it gave Davies outs to a chop. The {10-Spades} on the river was a brick however, and Davies hit the rail. Devonshire remains among the chip leaders, boasting a stack of 4.9 million chips.

Mesbah Makes His Exit

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

[Removed:147] got the last 320,000 of his chips into the pot in bad shape. His {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs} ran right into the {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} of big stack JP Kelly, and there would be no help on board. The {2-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} flop left him drawing dead, in fact, and the turn {10-Clubs} and river {J-Spades} have sent him to the exit.

Erick Lindgren Plays Rush Poker

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Table 338 just broke, its players scattering to find their assigned seats elsewhere in what is becoming an increasingly sparse Amazon Room. Erick Lindgren was quicker than most, rushing over to his new table and slipping into Seat 5 just in time to receive a hand and raise to 55,000 from under the gun.

A couple of players folded, then Aaron Ruppert arrived. He'd also been broken from Lindgren's same table, and as it turned out Lindgren had accidentally taken Ruppert's seat. Since there had been a couple of folds, the action stood, and after everyone else folded Lindgren took the small pot to move to 1.04 million.

"Push it there," said a grinning Lindgren to the dealer as he rose to move over to his assigned Seat 8.
