Six Days, Six Figures

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

As players continue to negotiate their way through Day 6, there are now just 72 of them remaining. That means another pay jump has been reached, and all are now guaranteed at least a $108,412 payday.

Ruppert's Run Stopped, Lenaghan Leaping Up

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Ryan Lenaghan
Ryan Lenaghan

A short-stacked Aaron Ruppert was just now all in for his tourney life with {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} against Ryan Lenaghan's {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

The flop came monotone -- {7-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{6-Hearts} -- an ace for Lenaghan, and the wrong color for Ruppert. The turn was the {J-Spades} and river the {6-Diamonds}, and Ruppert is out.

Lenaghan is now up to 7.82 million, just ahead of third-place Ben Lamb and just behind leader Phil Collins.

Fierro Cripples Kaplan

Nicolas Fierro opened to 85,000 from the cutoff seat, Gregory Kaplan moved all in for effectively 800,000 from the big blind, and Fierro made the call.

Showdown
Fierro: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Kaplan: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Fierro held as the board ran {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, doubling him to 1.6 million chips. Kaplan is now crippled, and left with just 150,000 chips.

Bazeley Catches a Six

Jacob Bazeley moved all in from late position for 595,000 and was called by Scott Schwalich from the small blind.

Bazeley: {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Schwalich: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Hearts}, giving Bazeley a set of sixes and the lead in the hand. The turn brought the {3-Clubs} and Schwalich was drawing to one of the two remaining nines. Unfortunately for him, the river fell {K-Spades} and Bazeley was able to double his stack.

Charlton Falls to Pateychuk

Niall Charlton on Day 5
Niall Charlton on Day 5

Andrey Pateychuk raised to 80,000 from late position only to have Niall Charlton move all in for 1.21 million from the cutoff. The blinds got out of the way and Pateychuk made the call.

Showdown
Pateychuk: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Charlton: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

It was a race, that is until the flop came down {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and gave Pateychuk a set. The {Q-Spades} turn gave Charlton a gut-shot straight draw, but the {4-Diamonds} river did not fill it. Charlton was eliminated from the tournament while Pateychuk chipped up to 3.82 million.

Kaplan Keeps it Going

Gregory Kaplan open-shoved his last 115,000 from the cutoff seat, and Marc-Andre Ladouceur called out of the small blind.

Showdown
Kaplan: {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Ladouceur: {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Kaplan was in very bad shape, until the flop fell {7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}, giving him a leading pair of sevens. Ladouceur held the only club though, and could regain the lead with any club or the case three. The turn ({k-Diamonds}) and river ({a-Diamonds}) were both big red bricks however, and Kaplan more than doubled to 300,000 chips.

Moore Jacks

Sam Barnhart raised to 90,000 from middle position and found a caller in Christopher Moore from the cutoff. It was heads up to the {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Clubs} flop, which saw Barnhart lead out for 200,000. Moore made the call as the {4-Diamonds} appeared on the turn.

Again Moore called a Barnhart bet, this time 300,000, before both players checked the {8-Spades} river. Barnhart turned over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for ace high, while Moore revealed the winning {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Lindgren Slips

We haven't heard much of Erick Lindgren in this level, but he has managed to get involved voluntarily in one pot against JP Kelly as we approach the final break of the night.

From the UTG position, Kelly raised to 100,000 and the action folded to Lindgren who re-raised to 250,000 from the cutoff. Kelly called, then both players checked the flop of {10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} before Kelly check-raised to 900,000 on the turn of the {Q-Diamonds} after Lindgren led out for 350,000. Lindgren mucked his hand.

Robinson vs. Makiievskyi

Nelson Robinson raised to 90,000 from middle position and was called by Ahtoh Makiievskyi in the small blind. It was heads up to the {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, which saw Makiievskyi check-call a bet of 90,000. Makiievskyi then check-called a bet of 225,000 on the {5-Diamonds} turn before both players checked the {7-Hearts} river.

Makiievskyi showed {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}, but it was no good against the {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} of Robinson.

Chips for Chan As Shih Slips

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Ruben Visser raised to 85,000 from the hijack seat, then Feming Chan made it 215,000 from one seat over. It folded to Kenny Shih in the small blind who tanked, then announced he was all in. The big blind got out, and Visser quickly folded as well. After thinking a few moments, Chan -- covered by Shih -- made the call with his remaining chips.

Shih showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and Chan {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. The race was on.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and Shih remained ahead. But the {A-Hearts} landed on the turn, giving the advantage to Chan. The river was the {8-Diamonds}, and Chan doubled to about 2.45 million. Shih is left with about 640,000.
