"I Got Chop Outs"

We're not sure of the action, but we do know that Bryan Fortin got all in preflop holding {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and was dominated by the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds} of Samuel Holden. The {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop was no help to Fortin, but the {A-Hearts} made things interesting.

"I got chop outs," Fortin exclaimed. Indeed, while the turn delivered Holden a set, it put four hearts on the board, meaning another heart on the river would result in a chop. Fortin leaned in close as the dealer burned and revealed the {6-Diamonds}. It was a red card, but not what Fortin needed. He was eliminated from the tournament whole Holden chipped up to 1.535 million.

Crawford Comes from Behind to Double

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Before the last break, this hand went down. Claudia Crawford limped in from middle position before Jonathan Godfrey raised to 33,000 from the small blind. When action got back to Crawford, she reraised to 85,000. Godfrey then made a four-bet to 158,000. Crawford didn't back down. In fact, she even went a little higher with a five-bet to 609,000 and was all in. Godfrey called.

Godfrey: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Crawford: {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Crawford binked a ten to win the pot. She doubled to over 1.2 million while Godfrey dropped to 150,000.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! So sorry!" said Crawford after the hand was complete.

"You're not really sorry," commented another player at the table.

"I truly am, I feel so bad," said Crawford. "It's my first suckout of the tournament."

Fierro Finds A Double Up

Nicolas Fierro was the chip leader for a while earlier in this tournament, and he entered today with 970,000. However, he was grinded down all the way 300,000 before he ended his slide. Fierro raised it up to 22,000 in middle position, and Alexandros Karnaos reraised to 45,000. Action folded back to Fierro, who went all in for 305,000 total. Karnaos made the call, and Fierro saw that he was in great shape.

Fierro: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Karnaos: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Fierro would need to dodge an ace to continue on in the tournament, and he faded the flop, as it came out {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}. The {4-Spades} hit the turn, and the river brought the {2-Diamonds}. Fierro scored the double up, but is still just a bit below average chips, while Karnaos falls to around 200,000.

Before the Break...

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We know, it was a while ago now, but we're still getting caught up on a flurry of action in the Orange section.

On a {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs} {3-Clubs} flop, Tuan Vo got himself all in for about 400,000 with {A-Clubs} {K-Spades}. He was drawing, and Tony Hachem's {6-Clubs} {6-Spades} was leading as the cards lay. The turn {2-Diamonds} and river {3-Hearts} kept his pair in front, and the knockout moves Brother of Joe up over the million-chip mark.

Alibilia Sent Bach to the Abyss

Ariel Albilia was all in preflop for 221,000 and at risk against David Bach.

Showdown
Bach: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Albilia: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Albilia was in rough shape and the {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Spades} didn't change that. The {J-Hearts} turn meant Albilia needed a ten on the river to stay alive, but it was not meant to be as the {8-Clubs} peeled off. Albilia was sent to the payout desk while Bach added 221,000 to his stack.

Bonding Sends Savelyev to the Rail

Lars Bonding
Lars Bonding

On a board reading {10-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, Lars Bonding bet 93,000 from the under-the-gun position only to have Dmitry Savelyev move all in for 337,000 from the cutoff. Bonding made the call and revealed {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Unfortunately we didn't catch Savelyev's hand, but we do know the river came the {K-Hearts} and Bonding took down the pot.

Savelyev was eliminated from the tournament on the hand while Bonding chipped up to 1.68 million.

Cracked Aces Send Strom to the Rail

In another hand that happened before the break, a flop came down {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and Per Strom got all in holding {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} only to discover he was dominated by the {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of Timothy Faro. Neither the {10-Diamonds} turn nor the {5-Diamonds} river changed a thing and Strom's aces were officially cracked to put an end to his 2011 WSOP Main Event.

Quads for Cunningham

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham

We had a big hand on the main feature table just prior to the first break of the day involving Allen Cunningham and Patrick Coughlin.

It began with Coughlin opening for 24,000 from early position, Cunningham calling from the button, and Daniel Negreanu calling as well from the big blind. The flop came {2-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Negreanu checked, Coughlin bet 38,000, Cunningham called, and Negreanu folded.

The turn brought the {2-Clubs}. Coughlin bet 95,000 this time, and Cunningham called again.

The river (a blank, as it would turn out) brought another bet from Coughlin followed by an all-in shove by Cunningham for 304,000. Coughlin quickly called, showing {9-Hearts}{9-Spades} for a full house. But Cunningham had {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for quads, and claimed the huge pot.

Cunningham returns from the break to a stack of 960,000, while Coughlin has 267,000.
