When it comes to finding notables in the massive Main Event field, nothing is easier than spotting players wearing the patented PokerStars logo and accompanying Team Pro patch. Today, last year's champ and Team PokerStars Pro (Canada) Jonathan Duhamel is being featured on the ESPN Main Stage.

We didn't see the hand that did him in, but we did see David Steicke step off the featured table stage in the Purple section and lope out the door. A quick check finds his old seat empty of chips, and it's safe to say the shark from down under has gone under here on Day 1c.
Massimiliano Martinez raised to 700 from middle position before Liz Lieu made it 1,700 from the button, Martinez then made it 4,775 to go and Lieu flat-called to see a flop.
Martinez fired out 6,250 and Lieu raised it up to 17,250 only for her opponent to reraise all in for 46,950. Lieu tanked for several minutes thinking through the hand a second time out loud, before eventually calling all in for 32,500 with but finding herself behind to which held on the turn and river.
Lieu is out and Martinez looks to be our early chip leader with about 98,000
Cody Slaubaugh raised to 450 preflop and the big blind decided to defend. The big blind then check-called a bet of 600 on the flop, leading to the turn. Again the big blind check-called a bet, this time 1,075, and the rolled off on the river.
Both players checked and Slaubaugh revealed , which was good enough to win the hand.
A player raised to 575 from early position and got two callers, including Chris Moneymaker sitting a couple of seats to his left. The flop came . The preflop raiser bet 1,450, and both Moneymaker and the third player sitting in the cutoff called. The turn was the , and this time the EP player bet 3,550. Moneymaker again called -- leaving himself only 5,000 or so behind -- while the third player skedaddled.
The river was the . Moneymaker's opponent fired again, enough to put Moneymaker all in, and the 2003 ME champ quickly called. The aggressor throughout the hand showed for a turned set of jacks, but Moneymaker had for a jack-high straight.
"Nice hand, Moneymaker," said his opponent. "Thank you, sir," he replied. "A really, really sick turn."
After his difficult first hour-and-a-half of play today, that one puts Moneymaker back up around 19,000.
On a board reading , an unknown player bet 2,800 only to have Matthias de Meulder make it 6,950. A call was made, followed by the on the river. The unknown player then check-called a bet of 12,425 from the Belgian pro, only to muck when de Meulder show for top set.
Dario Alioto was just seen losing some more chips after a flop. The player first to act checked and ALioto bet 600 which received one call from the player bed him. The player next to act call-raised a 1,300 bet from Alioto to 3,300. Alioto never saw a river as he and his opponent mucked their hand and he now has 15.000.
The action folded to Padraig Parkinson who raised to 525 from middle position before the button and the blinds called to make it four-handed to a flop of . The blinds checked to Parkinson who bet 1,000 and only the button was interested in seeing the turn with Parkinson, which was the .
Parkinson led out for 1,025 and the button called, then the action repeated on the river before Parkinson showed down for two pair. The button player didn't look all that happy as he mucked.
