The 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise Event #15: $10,000 High Roller 6-Handed at Atlantis Hotel & Casino continues today with Day 2 action. Buckle in for a full day of action as the plan is to play down to a winner, no matter how long it may take.

Day 1 of the tournament attracted 134 entries, which is sure to grow as late registration is open until the start of Day 2 at 3 p.m. local time today. The prize pool has already surpassed the $1,000,000 guarantee, and final numbers are expected to be released shortly after the start of play.

Of the 59 players who bagged on Day 1, France’s Jean-Noel Thorel and his stack of 444,000 led the pack. Others to make it through were Yuri Dzivielevski (417,000), Mike Watson (335,500), Jesse Lonis (327,500), Jessica Teusl (266,500), Stephen Song (184,500), and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu (89,000).

Day 2 will kick off at 3 p.m. local time on Wednesday and action will resume in Level 10 (1,500/3,000/3,000). There will be a 15-minute break every three levels and a 75-minute dinner break after six levels of play (approximately 7 p.m. local time).

Cornell Cracks Kings to Double Through Sturm

With two players seeing a board of 3♠8♦2♠6♠A♥ and roughly 110,000 already in the middle, Tyler Cornell moved all in from the small blind for approximately 75,000 and Leon Sturm called off from the cutoff with a covering stack.

Sturm turned over K♥K♠ but Cornell tabled 8♣8♠ for a set of eights to secure a massive double up while leaving Sturm with just under 20 big blinds.

Lonis Takes Down the Lady Gagas

After significant action Jesse Lonis had put Ren Lin all in and Lin made the call. The cards hit their backs with Lin at risk for elimination.

Kabrhel Blasts Off

Nível 12 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Pieter Aerts opened in middle position to 8,000 before the action was on Martin Kabrhel in the big blind who defended.

The Q♦6♥Q♣ flop landed and without much thought Kabrhel led into the preflop raiser for 9,000. Aerts called.

The 5♠ hit the turn and Kabrhel instantly led again for 30,000. Aerts called again.

The 8♥ hit the river and Kabrhel snap-jammed. Aerts took a look back at his cards and then put in the chips.

Kabrhel tabled J♠9♠ for a stone cold bluff and Aerts tabled 7♥9♥ for a gutshot that completed on the river. Aerts scooped and Kabrhel hit the rail.

Stumpf Knocks Out Deeb

Deeb got the last of his chips in with 6♦6♠ against Matthew Stumpf's A♦K♥. The board ran out 10♣K♣7♣A♠J♥ giving Stumpf two pair to send Deeb to the rail and continue to add chips to his stack.

Dube Ousted by Thorel

Maxime Dube opened to 11,000 from the cutoff and Jean-Noel Thorel three-bet to 30,000 from the big blind.

The flop came J♠10♣8♥ and Thorel fired a 25,000 continuation bet that was called by Dube.

Thorel bet again for 25,000 on the A♣ turn and once again Dube made the call.

The river was the 6♠. Thorel bet 30,000, Dube went all in for approximately 150,000 and Thorel snap-called.

Dube tabled A♠J♥ for top two pair but Thorel showed down 8♣8♠ for a set of eights to send Dube to the rail and continue to extend his chip lead over the rest of the field.

Botez Drawing Dead

Alexandra Botez moved all in from the button for her last 88,000. It was then on Pieter Aerts in the small blind who flat called and the action was on Luis Faria in the big blind who moved all in over the top.

Aerts thought for a moment but eventually got out of the way. Botez was heads up to a full board with her tournament life at risk.

The complete board showed 7♦4♦8♦6♦J♣. Although she knew she had lost on the turn, her father, who is always supportive, cheered for the jack on the river. However, Botez had to explain to her dad that she was knocked out of the tournament. Nevertheless, it was a lovely moment spent with her father.

Rezaei Committing Bubble Abuse

With two players seeing a board of 10♥7♥3♦8♠ and roughly 70,000 already in the middle, Armin Rezaei bet 100,000 from the cutoff and Kelvin Kerber called from the button.

On the 9♦ river Rezaei moved all in, covering Kerber who had roughly 240,000 behind. Kerber opted to fold and Rezaei took down a nice pot without showdown.

Rezaei has been leveraging his big stack to his advantage for the past hour while players have been on the money bubble, taking down many pots without showdown to build what is currently the biggest chip stack in the room by a wide margin.
