Day 2 Playing Down to a Final Table as 43 Hopefuls Return

Day 2 of the HK $1,000,000 Triton Super High Roller Series Macau Main Event kicks off at 1 PM this afternoon with 43 survivors from Day 1 returning for action. The total field size sits at 73 entries and leading the pack is the UK’s Stephen Chidwick.

Chidwick will wield a stack of 924,000 when cards get in the air Thursday, followed closely by Canadian Timothy Adams with 903,000. Justin Bonomo (817,000), Matthew Moss (798,000), and Wiktor Malinowski (755,000) round out the top five stacks.

One of the biggest stories to track is the progress of American poker legend Eric Seidel. Seidel, who sits in second place on the all-time money list is still in the hunt and if he is able to make a deep run he could pass Daniel Negreanu for first on that prestigious list. Seidel is just over US $1,000,000 behind Negreanu and the way this event is shaping up, Seidel may be able to finish as low as third place to get the job done.

The field is stacked with the top players in the world with the likes of Isaac Haxton (714,000), Fedor Holz (632,000), Steve O’Dwyer (608,000), Daniel Dvoress (473,000), and 2016 Big One for One Drop champion Elton Tsang (472,000) still in the mix.

Triton Poker Co-Founder Richard Yong finished Day 1 just outside of the top ten bagging 554,000 while Kings Consulting President Winfred Yu returns with 226,000. Former champions Wai Kin Yong (130,000), Koray Aldemir (136,000), and reigning champion Manig Loeser (333,000) remain in the hunt for a second title.

Anyone who wasn’t able to secure a seat on Day 2 or was not able to make it to the registration desk in time, late registration and unlimited re-entry remain open until the end of the break following Level 10, approximately 2:10 PM.

John Juanda, Peter Chan, Bryn Kenney, Dario Sammartino, John Andress, and Ben lamb are just a few who were sent to the rail on Day 1 and chose not to re-enter. There are some big names that have yet to make an appearance in the series as well including Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Andrew Robl, and Daniel Cates.

Day 2 will play down to a final table of eight on Thursday with the finalists heading back to the felt at 1 PM local time on Friday.
