Rayan "beriuzy" Chamas Leads Six 2M Stacks into Day 2

Rayan Chamas Day 1 Chip Leader
Rayan Chamas Day 1 Chip Leader

Day 2 of SCOOP 108-H: Main Event is on-deck for 12:30 ET today with 183 players returning at this point. That number may well change before cards go in the air as entries are open until the Day 2 action begins. In total, 533 entries so far have pushed past the $5m guarantee for $5.33 million in prizes right now.

Day 1 played 15 levels and at the end of the day, Canadian streamer Rayan "beriuzy" Chamas was sitting behind the most chips. He bagged up 2,372,359 and was the biggest of six players with more than 2 million chips to start Day 2.

There are three Canadians in the top ten chips to start Day 2 including Chamas while Poland has two players in the top ten. While he didn't make it to the top stacks, another Canadian, Mike "SirWatts" Watson is sitting in 13th with just over 1.5 million to start Day 2. As just the third player to win two Main Event titles on the EPT (one PCA victory, and a recent win in Monte Carlo), Watson is always dangerous and looks to be on a bit of a sun-run lately.

Quite a few Team Pro members played on Day 1, but only one of them emerged from the day with chips. Lex "L.Veldhuis" Veldhuis bagged a small stack of 427k, but that is still more chips than Rafael "GM_VALTER" Moraes and Ben "Spraggy" Spragg. They both busted on Day 1, but are on the list waiting for Day 2 with a 250k second-bullet starting stack.

Spragg specifically had a rough, and quick, Day 1. Shortly after his name appeared on the players' list for Day 1, a tweet appeared on his timeline:

With any luck, his second bullet will last a bit longer than his first. Among the other notables to make Day 2 are Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer, Simon "DaDumon" Grabenschweiger, Niklas "Lena900" Astedt, Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi (playing his fourth bullet) and Jans "Graftekkel" Arends with a short stack.

The Day 2 action gets going at 12:35 ET with the beginning of Level 16 and Day 2 will continue until there are 40 players left in the game.

There are four PokerStars Team Pros who jumped in with a Day 2 start stack today and are waiting for the action now. Among them are Rafael "GM_VALTER" Moraes and Ben "Spraggy" Spragg. No doubt Spragg will be looking to survive a little longer than he did on Day 1.

Spraggy Having Better Day 2

Spraggy Having Better Day 2

So far, it looks like Ben "Spraggy" Spragg is having a better day today than he did yesterday. He's up to more than 700k after two hands at the end of the last level.

In the first, he took a 227k pot from Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank when Spragg raised preflop and got two callers. They all checked the flop, and only Frank was around after Spragg's delayed bet on the turn. Frank mucked to a bet on the river, sending the pot to Spragg on a board of 7A2104.

In the very next hand, he sent Pascal "Pass_72" Lefrancois to the rail when his queen-nine got there against queen-ten for 262k.

Ben "Spraggy" Spragg got to play a bit more poker on Day 2 than he did on the opening day, but the result was the same. Team Pro is now down to two players remaining after Spragg got his stack in with ace-queen but ran into ace-king for Armin "armin1912" Rezaei and couldn't get there.

The only cards dealt in the hand were players' hole cards, but it still turned into a pot of almost ~750k. Dimitar "KuuL" Danchev raised under the gun to 36,320 before "Pargo18" three-bet to 110,640 from the cutoff.

It folded to big blind Dominykas "Mikensonas" Mikolaitis who four-bet to 304k. Danchev made it 497,360 and "Pargo18" got out of the line of fire and Mikolaitis thought better of it as well.

Rafael "GM_VALTER" Moraes is also grinding out his Day 2 and not afraid to put himself at risk. In a recent hand he opened early to 32k, then shoved for 320k remaining when Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle three-bet to 80k from the hijack.

Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden raised to 55k from the cutoff and Fabiano "Kovalski1" Kovalski defended the big blind with a call. They checked the flop and Kovalski called a bet on the turn but folded the river on a board of 537AJ.

Meanwhile they are on another break with 113 players remaining and "Stumpfed" leading two players with more than 4 million.

Mike "SirWatts" Watson is in the top five now after sending Fabiano "Kovalski1" Kovalski to the rail. Watson went runner flush near the end of the last level to take it down and get a bit more than 4 million, but he's down just below that now.
