Nível 7 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand Eliminated from Manjelleg
Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand Eliminated from Manjelleg

Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand just saw all his chips going to "Manjelleg" after the latter opened from the cutoff to 3,424 only to call Hand's shove for 39,156 from the small blind.

Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Manjelleg: {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}

A dominating situation for Hand but the {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} gave the pot to his opponent, sending PokerStars' Ambassador to the rail.

Amy Schumer, Bryan Cranston & Other Celebs to Play 'Stars Call for Action' Charity Event This Saturday

Nível 4 : 500/1,000, 125 ante
Stars Call for Action
Stars Call for Action

This Saturday at 2 p.m. EDT, PokerStars will play host to the “Stars Call for Action” charity event featuring dozens of A-list celebrities.

Amy Schumer, Bryan Cranston, Michael Cera, Jon Hamm, Neymar Jr., Don Cheadle, Jeff Garlin, David Schwimmer and Edward Norton are among those confirmed to play the “Stars Call for Action – Powered by PokerStars,” which will be live reported here on PokerNews. It will also broadcast live on Twitch, Facebook, and YouTube.

Noted actor and poker player Hank Azaria and director/screenwriter Andy Bellin played key roles in organizing the event.

The celebrities will be playing to raise funds for relief efforts during the current global pandemic crisis. PokerStars will donate $1 million for the prize pool, and the top finishers will direct portions corresponding to their finish to a charity of their choice.

Half of the prize pool will automatically go to CARE International, while the other half, including donations from fans, will be distributed via grants to charities and will be administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF), a Charity Navigator Four-Star Charity that meets all 20 BBB Charity Standards.

What’s more, players and fans will have a chance to get in on the action as for each celebrity that plays, PokerStars will invite one randomly-selected fan to join the tournament in a separate field. The two fields – celebrities and players – will then play down to their respective final tables and combine for the ultimate showdown. Celebrities who get knocked out early will be added into a side event where the winner will direct 10% of the total to charity.

James Hartigan and Lex Veldhuis will host the stream, which will see the celebrities show their faces via Zoom. Viewers will not only have the chance to watch all the action, but they can also help support the cause via a “Donate” button on each platform.

The online charity event was the brainchild of Azaria and Bellin, who was recently a guest on the PokerNews Podcast. The pair basically wanted to expand their home game to help during the current crisis.

Other celebrities joining the festivities include Brian Koppelman, Eric Bogosian, Jason Alexander, Brad Garrett, Michael Ian Black, Kevin Pollak, Max Kruse, and Tony Yazbeck.

"guitey" Doubles Through Veldhuis

Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis Doubles Up "guitey"

The action opened with a 1,840 middle-position raise from "guitey" and after "Rochinha2011" called, Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis three-bet to 7,200 on the button. The blinds folded and "guitey" four-bet shoved for 39,601 with only Veldhuis making the call.

"guitey": {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Veldhuis needed help to earn the bounty, but a {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop left him with just 1.7% to win the hand. The {10-Clubs} on the turn was the first of the two-out sequence he was expecting but the {8-Spades} on the river doubled up "guitey".

First Bounty for "Eleres88"

Nível 1 : 250/500, 60 ante
Tr!pleeeee vs Eleres88
Tr!pleeeee vs Eleres88

It all started with a raise under the gun to 1,125 from "hks_dragon" getting called by "gushuang88" and "Dowgh-Santos" on the hijack and the cutoff position respectively, before "Tr!pleeeee" popped it up to 7,500 from the button. The small blind got out of the way and "Eleres88" made it 29,750 from the big blind. It was folded back to "Tr!pleeeee" who shoved for 95,340 and "Eleres88" snap-called with a covering stack.

Tr!pleeeee: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Eleres88: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

A typical cooler for "Eleres88" who saw the board running out on his favor, with {5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{5-Hearts} giving him a full house and a bounty of $250 on his pocket.

SCOOP 2020: Adam Owen on Outlasting ‘All-Time End Boss’ ‘veeea’ Heads-Up To Win SCOOP-09-M

Adam Owen
Adam Owen

It was Sunday, Day 2 of the 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker Event 09-M, a $55 buy-in no-limit hold’em affair that had attracted no less than 7,898 total entries.

Adam “adamyid” Owen had survived the first day well enough to carry a decent stack into the final day. But a tough seat draw with Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez having position on him forced Owen to take the cautious route as he continued to navigate his way through the event.

“He was on my direct left, so I really couldn’t play many hands,” Owen explains. “I felt quite restricted, but maybe that helped me in that I didn’t quite get to go as hard as I usually might have done in that kind of tournament.”

Owen’s patience was rewarded as he made it to the last couple of tables, and even got to see Benitez fall in 22nd place. “With two or three tables left there were lots of really tough names,” says Owen. “I was happy to see some of those bust….”

“But having ‘veeea’ on the final table… he is one of the all-time end bosses.”
