Day 1 of the PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker #15-M: $215 NLHE [Sunday Million SE] has come to an end with 425 players making it through to Day 2. The $1,000,000 guarantee that was set was once again easily surpassed as an amazing number of players were attracted to the field: 9,935. This created a massive prize pool of $1,987,000 where the winner will eventually walk away with $268,458 and the coveted SCOOP title.

Claiming the Day 1 chip lead is "borchardt007" from Brazil with 4,628,142. A quick search online shows that he has won the Mini Sunday Million before back in December 2018. He got most of his chips when he eliminated "ADmiRAL107" as his jacks held up against the ace-king of the latter. But the most noticeable elimination came just a few minutes before the end of the day when he sent Alex "rumnchess" Livingston offline without making Day 2. This time he held ace-king and Livingston had ace-six. The king on the flop sealed the deal.

Trailing "borchardt007" in the chip counts are "montana99150" (4,185,776), "Aurore1912" (3,887,514), "Pokerhaam" (3,695,628), and "firstsniper" with 3,569,414. Other notable names to have made it through include Jorn "jornxx" Walthaus, back-to-back SCOOP Main Event Champion Gianluca "Tankanza" Speranza, Chris "ImDaNuts" Oliver, and Michael "munchenHB" Telker for example.

The PokerStars Ambassadors didn't fare as well. They all failed to win their final all-ins but Tom “MajinBoob” Hayward was hanging on until the end until his ace-king ran into the jacks of his opponent. Fintan "EasyWithAces" Hand, Felix "xflixx" Schneiders, Ben "Spraggy" Spragg, Ramon "RamonColillas" Colillas, and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis.

When the players return at 1 p.m. on May 4th, they will finish the last ten minutes of Level 27 which has a small blind of 15,000, big blind of 30,000, and a running ante of 3,750. All players have already received the $660 cash they're guaranteed by making Day 2 but they will all be eyeing up a bigger prize. The first pay jump is looming as the top 413 players will get at least $72 more already. Level duration will remain at 20 minutes each throughout the day until a winner has been crowned.

Who will be the next Sunday Million champion? Come back for the PokerNews updates as we all find out.
