Bujtas and Deeb Lead 14 Survivors in WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller]

Another high stakes tournament of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker 2020 has wrapped up for the night as the money bubble burst in WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller] to leave 14 survivors out of a field of 125 entries. They are all guaranteed a portion of the $625,000 prize pool with $12,900 locked up so far, and the winner can look forward to a payday of $140,506.

Almost half of the field consisted of re-entries as 69 unique players re-entered a total of 59 times - 44.8% of the field were re-entries. A second or third entry was not uncommon and this was also the case for Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas, who entered mid-way through the registration period.

Bujtas needed to fire a third bullet to eventually run up a stack and finish Day 1 at the top of the leaderboard with 2,123,462. Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb picked a different strategy and entered towards the end of the late registration period, quickly doubled two times and spun that stack up further to claim 1,916,970 for the final day.

Third in chips is Sweden's "jedimaster82" with 1,313,792 and another two players bagged up more than a million in chips including Andras "probirs" Nemeth (1,044,947) and Richard "raconteur" Gryko (1,042,894). Portuguese poker pro Joao "Naza114" Vieira won two WCOOP PLO titles in 2019 and made it through with 945,333 on his only bullet.

Some of the other survivors include Christopher "lissi stinkt" Frank (696,078), Adam "fishbones11" Fyshe (573,517) and Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich (377,574). The last player to bust without anything to show for was Brazil's Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski, who had already won two titles in the current festival.

The Action of the Day

The start of the event was delayed by 10 minutes and throughout the registration period, the entries and re-entries kept on coming with a maximum of eight tables running at the same time. One of the first players to bust was Finland's "Aku1206" but they then re-entered and became one of the early front runners.

Kahle "ROFLshove" Burns sent over his stack twice in quick succession to the Finn and was also the first player to run out of chances to re-enter when he was eliminated in a three-way all-in with Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas and "Ahhh Is It?". That spelled the end for Bujtas, too, who then re-entered and ran up a stack in quick succession.

Plenty of Scandinavian mixed game aficionados took a shot on Day 1 and many of them came up short such as Andreas "Skjervoy" Torbergsen, Niklas "Lena900" Astedt, "XD89lol<3", Ola "Odd_Oddsen" Amundsgard, Jens "Jeans89" Kyllonen, Eelis "EEE27" Pärssinen and Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen.

Pärssinen was among those to send over the chips to Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb. In the first hand, both players held aces and Deeb turned a straight with his two other cards to leave Pärssinen short. Shortly after, the Finn got it in preflop and ran into the aces of Deeb.

Jouhkimainen, one of the 2019 WCOOP PLO winners, came up short of the money by a few spots and Bujtas then knocked out PLO cash game legend "Venividi1993" when a wrap got there against turned two pair. The next player to bust in an "aces versus aces dilemma" was Russia's "le kork" as Bujtas claimed another victim and the field raced towards the money bubble.

Only 16 players went on the last break and within minutes of returning to the seats, the money bubble had burst. Espen "locomi" Myrmo came up second-best with kings against the queens of Andras "probirs" Nemeth and Bujtas knocked out a short-stacked Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski moments later.

All remaining 14 players will return the following day at 1.05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) to determine a champion and the returning blinds will be 8,000/16,000.

The final day of WCOOP-37-H: $5,200 PLO [6-Max, High Roller] will be streamed on the PokerStars Twitch channel with cards-up coverage and commentary on a delay of at least 20 minutes. All PokerNews live updates will be published according to that delay. You can also check out all the other PokerStars WCOOP 2020 highlights, results and live updates right here!

Chip leader Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas raised to 40,000 from under the gun and the action then reached the far-shortest stack Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski on the button, who moved all in for 87,428. The blinds got out of the way and Nemeth called.

Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski: {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Chip leader Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}

On a board of {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Spades}, the queens remained in the lead, and just like that the bubble burst as Dzivielevski is the last player to leave without anything to show for.

That wraps up the event for tonight and the chip counts, as well as a recap of today's action are to follow.

Andras "probirs" Nemeth opened the action with a raise to 40,000 and Espen "locomi" Myrmo three-bet the pot out of the small blind for 136,000 with 139,027 behind. Nemeth pulled the trigger and Myrmo called all-in.

Espen "locomi" Myrmo: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Andras "probirs" Nemeth: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

There was trouble brewing on the {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop as Nemeth picked up a gutshot straight draw. Instead, he spiked the {q-Clubs} turn for a set and the {j-Spades} river failed to improve Myrmo.

Aces Versus Aces Dilemma Busts "le kork"

le kork eliminated by Bujtas

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas made it 35,000 to go from the cutoff and "le kork" three-bet to 126,000 on the button with 165,804 behind. Bujtas simply reraised the pot and "le kork" called all-in.

"le kork": {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop brought no drama yet but the {4-Hearts} turn gave Bujtas a set of fours and left "le kork" with no outs whatsoever, ending their run in 17th place as a meaningless {6-Spades} rolled off on the river.

Venividi1993 eliminated by Bujtas
Venividi1993 eliminated by Bujtas

The remaining 18 players were not evenly balanced yet when the next contender hit the rail and reduced the field to just 17 hopefuls.

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas had reconnected not long ago and was in the small blind, facing "Venividi1993" in the big blind.

The Hungarian limped in and called a pot-sized raise to 42,000 by "Venividi1993". On the {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} flop, Bujtas opted for a check-raise from 33,600 to 83,496 and was called. After the {2-Diamonds} turn, Bujtas bet the full pot for 250,992 and called the shove of "Venividi1993" for 289,552 total.

"Venividi1993": {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas: {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Bujtas had plenty of outs with his wrap got there on the {10-Clubs} river.

Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen raised it up to 49,000 from under the gun and was called by Adam "fishbones11" Fyshe in the big blind.

The flop brought {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} and Fyshe checked, then quickly called the shove of Jouhkimainen for 101,4099.

Joni "bustoville" Jouhkimainen: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}
Adam "fishbones11" Fyshe: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Fyshe had nailed the flop with top set and the flush draw to leave Jouhkimainen with one out on the {10-Diamonds} turn. The miracle never happened on the {8-Clubs} river and Jouhkimainen departed in 20th place.

Pärssinen Loses It All To Deeb

Deeb vs Pärssinen Part I
Deeb vs Pärssinen Part I

In a preflop raising war, Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb clashed with Eelis "EEE27" Pärssinen and was the player at risk in a pot of more than 1.18 million.

Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Eelis "EEE27" Pärssinen: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

The kickers would play a pivotal role on the {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board as Deeb made a straight to double and leave Pärssinen short.

One hand later, Pärssinen raised the pot and Deeb in the big blind reraised, as Pärssinen was now at risk.

Eelis "EEE27" Pärssinen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}

On a {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} the aces were not cracked and Pärssinen departed in 22nd place.

In one of the last hands before the break, Richard "raconteur" Gryko raised to 23,750 and called a three-bet to 76,250 by Jens "Jeans89" Kyllonen in the big blind. Kyllonen bet the pot for 157,500 on the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop and Gryko moved all in with the superior stack to pick up a call for a pot of more than 83 blinds.

Richard "raconteur" Gryko: {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Down to Three Tables Already

Geilich vs Zagalo87
Geilich vs Zagalo87

A short-stacked "Lateski" ran out of chips and another player from Scandinavia hit the rail next.

"ShipitFTW911" raised to 35,000 and was called by Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich in the big blind. They got it in after the {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and Geilich was behind with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs} versus {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. That changed on the {10-Spades} turn and the {a-Clubs} river reduced the field further.

Geilich then scored the next knockout when he sent "Zagalo87" to the rail. In a three-bet pot to the {j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, "Zagalo87" bet the pot and called a shove by Geilich with the slightly inferior stack.

Ludovic "ludovi333" Geilich: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
"Zagalo87": {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

The {a-Diamonds} turn and the {6-Diamonds} river changed nothing much as Geilich hit a full house to score the next elimination.

Watson vs Bujtas

Former big stack "Lateski" is now the shortest stack on their table as Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas leads the charge by some margin after sending Mike "SirWatts" Watson to the rail.

Bujtas opened to 20,000 and Watson three-bet the pot to 72,000 on the button. Bujtas four-bet and Watson then called all-in.

Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Mike "SirWatts" Watson: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{4-Spades}.
