Kings are Kind to Korn

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

With about 2,500 chips already in the middle and the board reading {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, Andres Korn bet 1,400 from the big blind into his lone opponent in late position. His opponent called.

The {10-Diamonds} fell on the river and Korn checked. His opponent checked behind and Korn quickly flipped over {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}, which was good enough to win the pot.

Rosen Takes Round Three Against Cudos

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

From under the gun, Jesse Rosen raised, making it 1,050 to play. Action folded around and Marcelo Cudos called from the button and the player in the big blind called as well.

The flop came {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to Rosen who continued with a bet of 2,400. Cudos called while the big blind folded.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and both players checked to see the {9-Diamonds} river. Rosen checked again. Cudos thought for a while then put out a bet of 3,800. Rosen then took a brief pause to think through the hand, asking Cudos to move his hands so he could see his stack. Eventually, Rosen settled on a call.

Cudos shook his head, indicating that he didn't have anything and showing {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a missed flush draw. Rosen held {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a rivered pair of nines and that was good for him to take down the pot.

Hugo Marcelo is a well-known player in the Brazilian poker community. In 2015 he took down a SCOOP title and more recently he earned Player of the Series accolades for the Brazilian Series of Poker, earning him a package for this event here in Uruguay. Today on Day 1a he's making his presence known early and has already amassed right around three times the starting stack.

In a recent hand that we saw, Marcelo was involved with another player on a board of {5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades} with nearly 10,000 already in the pot. Marcelo's opponent checked to him and he put out a bet of 6,000. Marcelo's opponent called.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and Marcelo's opponent opted to lead out with a small bet, making it 800. Marcelo thought for a bit, then decided to move his opponent all in. The player thought for a while, then eventually called. Marcelo made a face, then turned over {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. His opponent stood up from the table and mucked his hand allowing Marcelo to take down the big pot.
