Yang Wang Eliminated in 14th Place (HK$262,000)

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Yang Wang
Yang Wang

The eliminations are coming thick and fast now and almost immediately after the departure of Xiaoyang Luo we lose Yang Wang.

Wang had literally just moved into the big blind, taking the seat of the recently departed Shuo Li and action folded around to Raghav Bansal in the small blind who put the Wang all-in. The Chinese player peeked down at his cards and quickly called.

Yang Wang: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Raghav Bansal: {5-Spades}{6-Spades}

The trend of the best hand being beaten continued when the board ran out {k-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades} to give the Indian player the straight and Wang headed for the exit to collect the same money as previous casualty Attenborough.

Xiaoyang Luo Eliminated in 13th Place (HK$288,000)

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Xiaoyang Luo
Xiaoyang Luo

A scant two hands after the exit of Yang Wang and we lost another player, with Raghav Bansal doing the honors once again.

Bansal juiced it up from late position to 27,000 and Luo moved all-in from the big blind. The Indian player called instantly and the cards were turned over.

Xiaoyang Luo: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Raghav Bansal: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The flop came down {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to give Bansal a straight draw to go with his pair and while Luo briefly took the lead when the {a-Hearts} landed on the turn the {5-Diamonds} river gave the Indian player the straight and he busted another. Talk about catching hands at the right time. Luo headed for the cash desk to collect the equivalent of US$ 37,440 and Bansal stacked up to over 1.9 million.

Manig Loeser Eliminated in 12th Place (HK$288,000)

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

After losing two pots without showdown, Manig Loeser was down to just over 300,000 and faced a raise to 28,000 by Troy Quenneville on the button. Loeser clicked it back to 82,000 out of the big blind and Quenneville moved all in. Loeser stood up for a mere second to check on the second table and called.

Manig Loeser: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}
Troy Quenneville: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The flop of {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades} saw Loeser hit top pair, but all that was worthless when the {10-Hearts} on the turn completed a straight for Quenneville. Loeser needed a queen and a queen only to chop, but the {2-Hearts} river bricked to eliminate the German in 12th place for HK$288,000 (~$37,440).

Michael Addamo Eliminated in 11th Place (HK$330,000)

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Addamo
Michael Addamo

In the previous hands over on table two, Michael Addamo first gave up a pot against Xixiang Luo and then raised to 27,000 from the button only to fold to a three-bet by Raghav Bansal.

Soon after, Addamo raised to 28,000 from under the gun and Nick Petrangelo flat-called in the big blind. On a flop of {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Petrangelo checked and Addamo bet 33,000 with around 170,000 behind. Petrangelo moved all in and the Aussie called it off.

Michael Addamo: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Nick Petrangelo: {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}

Addamo was looking for a club in order to double, but the {8-Spades} turn and {Q-Diamonds} river saw the next player join the rail only minutes after the elimination of Manig Loeser. Addamo picked up a payday of HK$330,000 (~$42,900) for his efforts and there were just 10 players remaining on two tables.

Ryan Yu Eliminated in 10th Place (HK$330,000)

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Ryan Yu
Ryan Yu

It would take just two further minutes and the field was reduced to the last nine hopefuls, as Ryan Yu was the next short stack to surrender his stack. On the button, Yu raised to 28,000 and Dan Smith three-bet to 78,000 in the big blind. Yu moved all in for around 270,000 and Smith quickly called.

Ryan Yu: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}
Dan Smith: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}

A board of {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} failed to improve Yu and he was eliminated in 10th place for HK$330,000 (~42,900). After starting the day with just 10 big blinds, it was a tough grind for the Canadian, who narrowly missed out on the unofficial final table. The remaining players will now combine to one table with just over one minute remaining on the clock for the current level. One further level is scheduled for tonight, or until the next elimination takes place, whichever of the two comes first.

Jiang Doubles Through Smith

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Only one more hand was played in level 19 and Nick Petrangelo bested Xixiang Luo in a small pot with second pair.

The new level kicked off with a raise to 38,000 by Raghav Bansal and Sosia Jiang moved all in from the hijack. Dan Smith in the cutoff asked for a count and the shove was for 246,000 in total, which Smith called. All opponents including initial raiser Bansal folded and the cards were turned over.

Sosia Jiang: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Dan Smith: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

"Bed time?" James Chen asked before the flop fell {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Jiang took the lead. After the {A-Spades} turn and {4-Clubs} river, the double up was confirmed and Chen acknowledged that with a "no bed time" and sat back down in his chair.

James Chen Eliminated in 9th Place (HK$390,000)

Nível 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

James Chen moved in once and claimed the blinds and antes. Only a few minutes later, it would be all over, though. A raise to 40,000 by Ben Lai was met with the all in for around 270,000 by Chen and, once the action had folded back to Lai, a quick call followed.

James Chen: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Ben Lai: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}

Chen was behind and needed to find a queen or plenty of red cards in order to double. The board came {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and the kicker played a crucial role, eliminating Chen in 9th place for HK$390,000 (~$50,700). That concludes Day 2, as the remaining eight players will now bag up and come back tomorrow at 12.30 p.m. local time. There are 45:36 left on the clock for level 20 when the action resumes and the chip counts and a recap of today's action will follow soon.
