Flopped Boats are Cursed in PokerNews Cup

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Harrison Ashdown
Harrison Ashdown

Gloria Vallejo opened to 1,100 from middle position and was called by Harrison Ashdown from the big blind.

The A44 flop checked through to the 8 turn. Ashdown bet 1,400 and was called.

Sparks then began to ignite on the 9 river. Ashdown checked and Vallejo fired out 3,500. Ashdown made it 20,000 and then faced a jam for 32,900.

Ashdown went deep into the tank, listing the hands that beat him as well as the hands that he beat.

He began counting out his stack and called.

Vallejo tabled 99 for a rivered full house of nines full of fours. Ashdown looked sickened as he had the A4 for fours full of aces, and sent his hand into the muck.

The hand is similar to a pot played between Spencer Hudson and Oliver Bunting yesterday. Hudson's flopped jacks full of kings against Bunting's aces. However, a third king on the river gave Bunting a superior full house.

Dickstein Flops the Nuts

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Mark Dickstein just doubled up after being on the right side of a cooler and briefly recapped the hand to PokerNews.

There was an open to 600, with Dickstein and the big blind calling.

The QxJx9x flop checked through to the 4x turn.

The big blind led out for 2,000, pushing out the original raiser. Mark Dickstein then raised before all the chips got into the middle.

Dickstein tabled his Kx10x for the flopped nut-straight while his opponent had 10x8x for the second-nuts.

The river was inconsequential and Dickstein chipped up.

Pocket Nines Doing the Job

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

There was around 10,500 in the middle, in a three-handed pot on the 933 flop.

Timothy Fallon bet 5,000 from middle position before Istvan Szabo moved all in 11,600 from the hijack. Douglas Shirk then rejammed for around 10,000 more which pushed out Fallon.

Istvan Szabo: 99
Douglas Shirk: QQ

Szabo flopped a full house and improved to quads following the 3 turn and 9 river.

On a table elsewhere, there was around 7,000 in the middle on the J93 flop.

Michael-David Passy and Daniel Moallem checked from under the gun and middle position, prompting Atanas Kodinov to bet 5,000.

Passy made it 11,000 before Moallem jammed for 20,600. Kodinov folded and Passy called.

Daniel Moallem: AxAx

Passy had out-flopped the aces and made a set. He held out to secure the pot and bust out following the 84 runout.
