David Peters defended his big blind against a button raise by Adrian Mateos to then check-raise the flop, which Mateos called. The followed on the turn and Peters bet 90,000 to force out Mateos.
Over on the other table, Steve O'Dwyer made it 30,000 to go from under the gun and Seth Davies pushed all-in for 100,000 in the very next seat. Fedor Holz called in the big blind and O'Dwyer folded.

O'Dwyer Takes the Lead After Ousting Dvoress
Day 1 chip leader Daniel Dvoress got his shorter stack into the middle and earned a quick call by Steve O'Dwyer. The rest of the table got out of the way.

The flop kept O'Dwyer ahead and Dvoress was in need of a jack to survive. Nothing changed with the turn and the river only improved O'Dwyer to a full house.
By claiming that pot, O'Dwyer leaped into the lead as Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet folded to a shove by Adrian Mateos to forfeit 135,000 out of the big blind.

Peters Gets River Value From Mateos; Holz Doubles
On the tail end of a heads-up pot to the river, David Peters bet 90,000. Adrian Mateos called after a few seconds of deliberation and tossed his cards towards the muck when Peters rolled over the for a pair of aces with jack kicker.
Mateos then grabbed his cards to double check them again before mucking them for certain.
"It's been a long couple of weeks," Isaac Haxton exclaimed with a grin on the face.
Over on table two, Fedor Holz had just started receiving a massage when he was all-in for 270,000 and looked up by Steve O'Dwyer.

Nick Petrangelo raised to 45,000 and folded when Fedor Holz three-bet to 110,000 on the button, awarding yet another pot to the German.
Seth Davies got a shove through on the same table and earned some precious chips.
Over on table one, a single-raised pot was checked to the river. Aleksejs Ponakovs was facing a bet of 85,000 by Dan Smith, the latter of which was under the gun. One time bank extension expired and Ponakovs then folded while the second 30-second period just about ticked over.

A Shove by Haxton Gets Through
Isaac Haxton raised to 40,000 from under the gun and was called by Aleksejs Ponakovs in the very next seat. Dan Smith was also in the mix out of the small blind.
By the time the turn showed , it checked to Haxton who pushed all-in for 215,000. Ponakovs asked for an exact count and reluctantly folded. Smith double-checked his cards twice and also settled on a fold as well.

The dates for the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have been in your diary since December, but now get ready to plan your entire summer with the release of the full WSOP schedule.
A total of 95 bracelets — the most at a live WSOP in history — will be awarded over the course of seven weeks at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas Hotels & Casinos. In addition, there will be 20 bracelets awarded on WSOP.com in the merged network of New Jersey and Nevada, while the segregated markets of Pennsylvania and Michigan will each award seven bracelets.
The action gets underway on May 30 and runs through until July 18, 2023, on the Las Vegas Strip at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas. Officials are doing what they can to ensure the $10,000 Main Event will be the biggest ever, including numerous satellite options, and if it is someone in the field will win a "Main Event for Life" drawing in which they will win a non-transferrable Main Event buy-in for the next 30 years!
Petrangelo Chips Up in Showdown
The field remains stuck at 12 contestants for an extended period considering all the frantic early action. They are one hour away from a 75-minute break and several stack sizes are becoming more even.
Right in the middle of the pack is also Nick Petrangelo, who check-called a bet of 85,000 by Steve O'Dwyer on the river. O'Dwyer showed the for a bluff and Petrangelo won the pot with for jacks and sixes.
