"I Guess We Have a Thing"

Nível 7 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Daniel Dvoress

Kevin Hart raised to 9,000 under the gun and Ben Tollerene, who recently re-entered, called from the button. Daniel Dvoress then three-bet to 45,000 from the small blind.

"Do we have a thing?" Hart asked, referencing the fact that Dvoress had three-bet him in the past. "Do you and I have a thing? Alright, I'm all in."

Tollerene quickly released.

"I guess we have a thing," Dvoress said before calling off for 181,500 total.

Dvoress: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Hart: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

"Fair," Dvoress added upon seeing the race situation.

"Fair? No good job, Kevin?" Hart responded.

The dealer then put out the flop — {5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Dvoress took the lead with a pair of kings, and it won him the double after the {2-Hearts} was run out on the turn followed by the {10-Diamonds} on the river.

"Good job, Kevin," Dvoress said. Hart laughed before counting out the chips.

"I can't lay a better trap than that," he said as he sent them over.

Celebrity Railbirds for Kevin Hart

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Daniel Negreanu and Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart is still in it, having rebought after suffering straight versus straight to get eliminated halfway through the day. Throughout the day, Hart has had some familiar faces as railbirds.

Early on today, Cary Katz was seen hanging around Hart's table. The PokerGo initiator didn't enter this event, telling the table he planned on registering at the start if Day 2 so he could watch the game tonight.

Maria Ho has been hanging around Hart's table as well, offering moral support for the majority of the day. Antonio Esfandiari was also seen talking to Hart, the two shared some laughs in the previous level.

Just now, Usain Bolt walked over to see how Hart was doing.

"I heard somebody's losing!" Bolt laughed as he shook hands with Hart.

Hart has indeed not been doing too well lately, but he's hanging in there with just under half a level to go for the day.

Scott Seiver Eyes Second PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 Super High Roller Title

Nível 8 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

The 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) kicked off on Saturday with Day 1 of the $100,000 Super High Roller, a tournament that dates back to 2011. The field attracted 46 entries, which is a bit shy of last year’s 54 runners. However, the total field is sure to go up as registration is open up until the start of Day 2, and we already know Cary Katz plans on entering then.

After eight one-hour levels, Scott Seiver bagged the chip lead among the 33 survivors with 804,000. Seiver is seeking his second PCA $100K Super High Roller title after topping a field of 59 entries to win this event back in 2013, good for $2,003,480.

Seiver currently sits third in all-time PCA $100K SHR earnings with $2,246,760. Only Bryn Kenney and Dan Shak, who have $3,479,740 and $2,254,640 respectively, sit ahead of him. Kenney made it through Day 1 with 548,000, while Shak advanced with 246,000.

Eliminations were aplenty on Day 1, but they always resulted in the downtrodden player reentering.

In Level 2, a third club on the turn saw Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu get his stack in with a king-high flush only to be up against the ace-high flush of Sam Greenwood. Likewise, in Level 6, superstar actor and comedian Kevin Hart rivered an eight-high straight but found himself running smack dab into Seiver’s jack-high straight. Both Negreanu and Hart reentered and finished with 438,000 and 316,000, respectively.

Others to bust and reenter were businessman Kevin Hobbs, WPT champ Stefan Schillhabel, and 2017 GPI Player of the Year Adrian Mateos, just to name a few. In fact, the only player to bust and not reenter, at least thus far, is Germany’s Christopher Frank.

Someone seeking his first-ever PCA Super High Roller cash is Nick Petrangelo, who actually freerolled into the tournament. Last night, he won the PokerStars Championship Player of the Year invitational for exactly $100,000, and opted to let it ride in this tournament.

More than $35 million has been awarded in this event since 2011, and a total of 41 players from ten different countries have made the money in the previous seven editions. We'll have to wait until tomorrow to learn how much more will join them when official numbers become available.

The Super High Roller action will be streamed from Day 2, which gets underway at Noon local time on Sunday, January 7, all the way to the champion’s ceremony. In addition, we’ll be live reporting all the action right here on PokerNews.

$26,000 REG Charity Event Today (5 p.m.)
A special charity event has been scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday, January 7) at the PCA 2018. The buy-in is $26,000 with $25,000 going into the prize pool and $1,000 going to the Raising for Effective Giving (REG) charity (donations of more than $1,000 are also accepted).

The tournament starts at 5 p.m. local time with unlimited re-entries allowed through the first ten levels. Players start with 100,000 in chips with 15-minute levels. Play will be 8-handed (9-handed final table) and the ante will be paid by the big blind. A 30-second shot clock will be in play with three additional timebanks of 60 seconds each. A dinner will be delivered to the participants (6:30-7:00 selection, delivery between 7:30-8:00).
