Watson's Rivered Flush Pays Off

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

After a limp from early position, Mike Watson limped in as well from the cutoff. Kristen Bicknell raised it up to 300,000 from the small blind and both limpers called. The flop fell {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Bicknell led out for 350,000. Both her opponent in early position and Mike Watson called as the {k-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Bicknell checked this time and the player in early position tossed in a bet of 450,000. Both Watson and Bicknell called and the {4-Clubs} completed the board. Bicknell checked again and the player in early position announced all in, having both of his opponents covered. Watson thought for a minute and then called for his last 1,640,000 while Bicknell folded.

The player in early position tabled {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Watson flipped over {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flush. He more than doubled up that hand as he raked in a massive pot before the break.

MacPhee Gets a Hold of Sicko

Nível 12 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Kevin MacPhee
Kevin MacPhee

Joseph Sicko came into the day as one of the big stacks of over 6,000,000 chips and for the longest was the table captain, working his way up over 10,000,000. However, with Kevin MacPhee at his table, there was always the chance of the two players colliding in a massive pot, and that they did.

The board read {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Spades} and the action was on Sicko who bet 425,000 into a pot of over 600,000. MacPhee check-raised to 1,555,000 and Sicko made the call. The river brought the {q-Hearts} and MacPhee slid in a bet of 2,500,000. Sicko counted out the chips to call but the decision of what to do wasn't going to come quickly. After nearly five minutes of being in the tank, Sicko finally pushed his chips in to call and MacPhee tabled {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} for a full house. Sicko mucked his cards and MacPhee suddenly became the largest stack at the table.

Romanello Scores a Double KO

Nível 13 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

We arrived at the table to find three players all in prior to the flop. One player was on the short stack of 1,150,000 with {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Chance Kornuth was all in for around 4,000,000 with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, and Roberto Romanello had them both covered with {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop fell {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Kornuth's pocket jacks were still in the lead. The turn was the {5-Hearts} giving Romanello the nut flush draw to go with his two overcards. The dealer burned and turned the {k-Hearts} on the river as Romanello completed his flush to eliminate both of his opponents.

Before the day started, Romanello said he had a couple days of rest and was "ready to fight" going into Day 2. It seems the partypoker Sponsored pro has his boxing gloves on and is dishing out the blows.

Gimbel Goes from Ahead, to Behind, then Ahead Again

Nível 13 : 35,000/70,000, 70,000 ante

Three players saw a flop of {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and the action was checked to the cutoff who bet 230,000 into a pot of around 450,000. Harrison Gimbel was in the big blind and check-raised all in for 1,300,000. The under-the-gun player folded while the cutoff made the call.

Gimbel was ahead with {10-Spades}{6-Spades} against his opponent's {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. However, the {7-Diamonds} landed on the turn giving his opponent two pair and Gimbel was at risk of being eliminated. The tides turned again as the {2-Clubs} hit the river and Gimbel made a bigger two pair to score the double up.

Tables are starting to break quickly as the dinner break nears and only five tables remain in the tent at the Playground Poker Club. Here is a look at some other chip counts from those tables.

Bicknell Making Use of Her Second Bullet

Nível 14 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Kristen Bicknell
Kristen Bicknell

Kristen Bicknell started the day after using just one bullet to get through on Day 1A, but things didn't work out so well to start. The partypoker Sponsored Pro busted earlier in the day and was forced to re-enter. Things have been going much better even though she finds herself at one of the toughest tables in the room.

The action folded to Bicknell on the button who raised to 200,000 and was called by Jonathan Duhamel in the small blind and Marvin Rettenmaier in the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Spades} and the action checked to Bicknell who continued for 250,000. Duhamel called while Rettenmaier folded.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and Duhamel checked to Bicknell again who bet 650,000. Duhamel stuck around to see the {5-Hearts} on the river. He checked one more time and Bicknell shoved all in. She put Duhamel to the test for his last 1,700,000 but he elected to fold after a couple of minutes.
