Another exciting day has reached its conclusion here at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, Canada. The partypoker MILLIONS North America $5,300 Main Event Day 1B was the only tournament on tap for the day. There were a total of 174 entries throughout the day and only 64 managed to survive until the end.

Darryll Fish managed to bag the chip lead with 6,900,000, most of which stemmed from a massive pot he played with Jeff Cormier. It was a coin flip with all of the chips going in the middle preflop. Fish held pocket queens against Cormier's ace-king and a flopped set of queens earned Fish a full double up. With over $3.5 million in career tournament earnings, Fish is no stranger to the poker community. His largest cash came earlier this year at a WPT event for $511,604.

The day was filled with plenty of familiar names at each and every table in action. Some other notables to bag chips at the end of Day 1B include Ami Alibay (6,190,000), Darren Elias (6,160,000), Marvin Rettenmaier (5,220,000), Jeff Gross (3,200,000), Pascal Lefrancois (3,075,000), Lucas Greenwood (2,355,000), and Niall Farrell (1,500,000).

The action started at 12:00 PM local time with 34 players taking their seats. It didn't take long for the number of players to start rolling in to take their shot at the guaranteed $10,000,000 prizepool. Everyone started with an initial stack of 1,000,000 chips but with the blinds at 5,000/10,000 and a 10,000 button ante, it didn't take long for the stacks to start moving. In fact, two well-known names in Chance Kornuth and Mike Leah saw their chips disappear within the first level.

The action will continue on Thursday with Day 1C and the PokerNews live reporting team will be there to cover all of the action.
