Grafton Binks a Double

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

According to Jussi Nevanlinna, the biggest pot of the Finn came off a three-way flop of {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-} when Nevanlinna raised from 65,000 to 190,000 on the button and picked up one caller. His sole remaining opponent then check-called 175,000 on the {2-} turn before check-folding the {5-} river to a shove.

It was also Nevanlinna who opened to 30,000 in the last hand of the level and Sam Grafton then three-bet to 76,000 in the small blind. Paul Byrne reraised to 205,000 and Nevanlinna folded, Grafton then shoved. Byrne asked for a count and eventually called Grafton's shove for 495,000.

"I am begging you, don't make me pay more money in this comp," Grafton joked when the cards were turned over.

Sam Grafton: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Paul Byrne: {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

"Black cards please," Grafton added and the flop fell {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. "That's a good start," the always vocal Brit stated, and his double was confirmed with the {J-Diamonds} turn, making the {5-Diamonds} river a formality.

Dunst and Wheeler Chops the Pot

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Dunst fired 130,000 into a pot 350,000 chips on the {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades} flop, and Jason Wheeler made the call leaving himself only 345,000 behind.

The players checked through the {9-Diamonds} turn, before Wheeler moved in on the {7-Clubs} river. Dunst considered his option before throwing in a single 25,000 chip to signal the call, and Wheeler instantly turned over {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Dunst proceeded to turn over his {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, and the players got to chop the pot of almost 1,3 million chips.

Mascolo Runs Out of Chips

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Plenty of big names have already been eliminated and will have to fire a second bullet in order to advance to Day 2.

Among them was also Giulio Mascolo, who just shoved for the last 95,000 with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Table neighbor Nando Theessen called with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} from one seat over and got there on the board [Kh9s6d4c5sd]. Theessen moved back to around the starting stack for today.

Simpson on the Comeback Trail

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Ian Simpson has begun his climb back up the mountainous leaderboard here at the MILLIONS Main Event, and has doubled up at just the right time.

"I had Ace-Ten and I three-bet pre-flop, Boris [Becker] called and so did another player, my eventual heads-up opponent. The flop came {10-}{6-}{6-} and we checked. On the turn of a deuce, he bet and I called. On the queen river he went all-in and had {A-}{7-}."

Simpson is not the only player bouncing back after an early setback, with former Late Night Poker legend and current Millions commentator Barny Boatman trying to avoid commentating on the final simply by winning £1million instead.

Jan-Peter Jachtmann Out After Massive Three-Way Pot

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

One of the biggest pots of the day saw Florian Duta surge to the top just minutes ago. Jan-Peter Jachtmann came in for a raise, Romanian Florian Duta three-bet before Michael Howard went all-in for 400,000. Back on Jachtmann he moved in for 837,500 total, which sent Duta into the deep tank.

Ultimately Duta committed the chips and turned over {K-}{K-}, way ahead of both the {A-}{K-} of Howard and the {Q-}{Q-} of Jachtmann. The five community cards didn't change anything this time around, and Duta scooped the massive pot.

While Jachtmann hasn't yet visited the cashier for a reentry, two other well-known players have. Mike Sexton and Tom Hall are both back in the mix.

Farrell Busts Ross With Quads

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

The action started with a raise to 28,000 by Markus Ross from early position and he picked up two callers in Niall Farrell on the button and Bryan Ruiter in the small blind. On the {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, the action checked to Ross and he continued for 51,000. Only Farrell called and the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn.

Ross moved all in for 240,000 and Farrell quickly called.

Markus Ross: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Niall Farrell: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Ross had a gutshot, but instead the {8-Hearts} river gave Farrell quads to eliminate the Austrian in style. The same table also features Keith Cummins and Sohnke Jahn.

Padraig Parkinson Nicks the Pot with a Nine

Nível 24 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

A shortstacked Jim-Robin Hansen moved all-in from middle position for somewhere around 150,000 and Partypoker Ambassador Padraig Parkinson moved in over the top a few spots over. The rest of the table got out of the way, and hands were on their back.

Padraig Parkinson: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Jim-Robin Hansen: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop was good for Hansen, but the turn {9-Clubs} even better for the 1999 WSOP Main Event finalist, Parkinson, who needed to fade four outs to get the knockout. The river was the {10-Hearts}, and the Irishman dragged the pot bringing his stack back to 650,000.
