Race to the Final Table
Twenty-three players returned for play today and "Hepburn1" doubled through "mrnappa" immediately who was left short to then bust to "Flush098765" shortly after. "blagodete1" was next to fall victim to "Flush098765" before "finnyk" and "Baroness1393" fell. Day 1 chip leader "Magdebob1993" was eliminated by "DoEasyMoney" with "Vespillo77" and "M4GPI3" were sent away to get the field down to the final two tables.
Gustavo "gremistaAK" Pinto became Voinea's first victim of the day with Francis "NoHayMiedo*" Cruz falling to Cornea next. "leeeee7" lost all of their chips to "€plov2". Voinea took out "Eduardnho11" next with "mickyray2010" and "komisz" kicked out before the final table bubble.
That bubble ended up lasting almost 40 minutes with several big pots and double-ups taking place before "€plov2" bubbled with ace-jack to the ace-ten of Voinea. The turn on the turn got the tournament down to the final table with Voinea holding more than twice as many chips as "Olegent" in second place.
The Final Table Action
It would take about fifteen minutes before Cornea got his last chips in against "W.Slomczynski" and couldn't win. Ten minutes later, "DoEasyMoney" was dusted off by "Hepburn1" who then fell soon after when they ran their queens into the aces of "Jepser8".
Six-handed play lasted about 30 minutes before all players decided to look at the ICM numbers and then agreed upon one with $50,000 left for the winner. "Anchises1" was first to go thanks to "Flush098765" but as they were third in chips during the deal discussion, they also collected the third-biggest prize. "Jepser8" had flopped two pair against the top pair of "W.Slomczynski" when their chips went in but their two pair got counterfeited.
"Flush098765" then also took out "Olegent" with pocket sixes for three-handed play to last almost 45 minutes. During that period, the chip lead exchanged hands several times. The stacks evened out a few times before Voinea doubled up with jack-ten against the eights of "W.Slomczynski". The jack on the turn got Voinea back in a commanding chip lead.
He kept the pressure on the two other players before "W.Slomczynski" shoved their 14 big blinds in with ace-eight. "Flush098765" reshoved for 22 big blinds with ace-jack and Voinea decided to call them both while holding ace-queen. The board ran out seven-trey-nine-ten-king to give them all the straight draw on the turn but Voinea held on with the higher kicker to claim the win in the end.
