Day 1 of Event #4: Sunday High Rollers ME $1,050, $1M Gtd. is now in the books, and there are just 81 players left in action playing for the top prize of $179,140. Leading the way into Day 2 is Argentinian player "Quilmes2020", with Brazilian Marcelo Asensio and American David Coleman in second and third place. Artur Martirosian from the Russian Federation rounds out the 3 million chip stacks in 4th place.

The bubble burst at the start of Level 27, the second last level of the day. Ukrainian Oleg "Ad Astra" Vasylchenko ended up as the unfortunate bubble player, busting in 126th place just before the payouts began. Once that bubble burst, action went very quickly, and more than 40 players busted out during the final two levels of play in Day 1.

Day 1 Action

Cards went in the air for Day 1 of Event #4: Sunday High Rollers ME $1,050, $1M Gtd. at 2 p.m. Eastern Time today with a few more than 150 entries. The field size swelled quickly through the five hours of late registration though, and by the time the registration window shut, there were more than 1,100 entries recorded.

That meant the $1 million guarantee was surpassed. With the final tally at 1,114, the prize pool topped out at $1,114,000, to be divided 125 ways.

There were about 300 players remaining at the virtual felt when registration closed, but they played down quickly, losing nearly 100 players before the next break in the action, and by the time they came back from the final break of the day, action was already hand for hand on the money bubble.

They played a full level hand for hand, and got into the money at the start of the second last level of Day 1. Ukrainian Oleg "Ad Astra" Vasylchenko was the last player to bust without money, and once he went down, action picked up again. In the final two levels of play, the field went from 125 down to 81, putting all the players returning on Day 2 into the second pay level at least. That means players returning for the second day of play are guaranteed at least $2,917 for their troubles.

Action on Day 2 gets underway at 1:01 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow, and they'll decide a winner before the day is finished. Stay tuned here as PokerNews brings you all the exciting action as they play down to find out who will take home the top prize of $179,140.
