GG Spring Festival
GG Spring Festival

The GG Spring Festival will now see another highly anticipated event capture the attention of the poker world as H-41: $25,500 Sunday 5 Million is set to begin at 17:05 p.m. GMT. This is the second Sunday Five Million thus far and all eyes will be on that heavy guarantee that the last tournament failed to break, falling just two buy-ins short.

About two hours before play and there is already a list full of heavy-hitters signed up. Some early registrants include GGPoker ambassador Fedor Holz, Rainer Kempe, Koray Aldemir, Wiktor Malinowksi, Jans Arends, Isaac Haxton, Juan Pardo Dominguez, Dario Sammartino, David Peters, Darren Elias, Patrick Leonard, and Canada's Guillaume Nolet who took down the first Sunday Five Million just last week.

All the runners will begin with 100,000 in chips and the levels last 15 minutes each for the entire duration of the day. The tournament is played in an eight-handed format and unlimited re-entries are available during the six-hour late registration period.

The action kicks off at 7:05 p.m. GMT for a Day 1 that will not conclude until the final table of nine has been reached. All final table players will return Monday, April 11 for the final day at 8:00 p.m. GMT to battle it out until an eventual champion is crowned.

Kelopuro Snatches an Early Pot from Holz

Nível 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

Action fell on Sami Kelopuro in the small blind who completed, only to have Fedor Holz bump it up to 1,786 from the big blind. Kelopuro called and a {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop landed on the board.

A check-call of 1,216 by Kelopuro saw an {8-Clubs} peel off on the turn and once more he tapped to Holz who bet 9,000. The bet was quickly called by Kelopuro and a {9-Hearts} completed the board.

Holz saw action fall on him, putting in a lighter bet of 8,000 and Kelopuro instantly switched gears as he check-raised to 28,742. Holz released, sending an early pot to Kelopuro.

Martirosian Catapults into Early Lead

Nível 1 : 250/500, 60 ante

Mustapha Kanit opened from the cutoff for 1,300, Artur Martirosian called in the small blind and Justin Bonomo defended this big blind to see the {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop. Action checked to Kanit, he bet 1,464 and Martirosian raised to 5,995.

Bonomo ducked out and Kanit called. A {10-Hearts} landed on the turn and Martirosian reached for chips, putting in a large bet of 23,600. Kanit hit the take but ultimately, he elected to call the bet and a {9-Diamonds} completed the board.

All-In was announced by Martirosian and he put his 68,245 stack into the middle. Kanit timebank-called for just 250 left and was at risk as he tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for top two. It was unfortunately not enough for Kanit when the Russian turned over his {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}, giving him a set and the pot.
