"It angers me so much what just happened" said Daniel Negreanu leaning backward from his chair. He told us two players in the Estrellas Poker Tour had gotten their hands killed after they wanted a photo with Negreanu, and stood next to their chairs to take it.
Negreanu said that stuff like that, was exactly what the tournament organization should not be doing to recreational players. Doug Polk one table down agreed, and nodded again as Negreanu stated "They're not cheating, that's impossible!"
From under the gun, Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier raised to 3,200. Oleksii Khoroshenin called from the hijack seat, Mike McDonald called from the button, and Tony Gregg called from the big blind.
The flop came down , and Gregg checked. After Mercier bet 6,100, Khoroshenin, McDonald, and Gregg all folded. Mercier picked up the pot to move to 235,000 in chips, and the rest of the counts from the table are below.
The defending champion of this event, Vitaly Lunkin, opened from the cutoff seat for 3,600. Tony Gregg was next to act and rerasied to 9,500. Jason Mercier was in the small blind, and he four-bet to 22,300. Play got back to Lunkin, and he five-bet to 48,600. Gregg and Mercier folded, giving Lunkin the pot.
Kyle Julius opened for 3,700, and next door neighbor Ole Schemion made the call from the hijack. Juha Helppi in the big blind came along for the ride, and the three of them saw a flop.
Both Helppi and initial raiser Julius checked, and Schemion bet out 8,500. Helppi made the call, and Julius did the same after some thinking.
The turn came the , and this time Helppi check called a 25,000 bet from his German opponent, Julius folded.

Talal Shakerchi just walked out of the tournament room, the first to do so today because of a lack of chips.
On a board, Shakerchi was seen bet out 25,200 from the small blind, with about 100,000 behind. John Juandaon the button moved him all in by pushing about 150,000 forward.
After quite some thinking, Shakerchi made the call by tossing in a single 100 chip. He had to commit the rest of his chips as well, and wouldn't get them back anytime soon as he was drawing dead. His had no way of improving against Juanda's .
The meaningless fell on the river, and Shakerchi made his way to the exit. He's able to buy back in till the start of Day 2, so we might just see one more appearance from the seasoned amateur.
It's been a while since we've seen Mikael Thuritz on the felt, but he's playing here right now. Thuritz might not ring a bell for everyone, poker die hards sure do know the name. Thuritz has been around for over a decade, but still plays the biggest games. He plays as "ChaoRen160" on PokerStars, and "punting-peddler" on Full Tilt Poker, where he amassed hundreds of thousands of dollars in this year.
Also in the field is Talal Shakerchi again, who took the exact same seat next to John Juanda he just busted from.
