Bruno "great dant" Volkmann raised the button to 240K and "moneyymakerr" reraised the small blind to 792K. Volkmann called, and then called 444K on the {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. They both checked the {q-Hearts} turn and "moneyymakerr" check-called for 300K on the {9-Hearts} river. Volkmann rolled over {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} for the rivered straight, and "moneyymakerr" mucked their hand.

The day started with 869 entries after more than 200 players elected to buy in before the start of Day 2. It played fairly quickly down to the money and about 4 hours after the day began, they were handing out pieces of the $2.426 million prize pool.

It took another five hours or so to play down to the final 71 players, and along the way start of day chip leader Toby "sadface11" Joyce ended up falling by the wayside. Joyce saw a run of bad luck around mid-day, including running queens into aces, and had to settle for 149th place and a score of $3,294.

Day 3 action gets underway tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. eastern time, and they'll play down to the final table. The final nine players will then take a day off on Wednesday, and return to the virtual felt Thursday to decide the champion of Event 01. Stay tuned here at PokerNews for all the action until they crown an Arena Champion.
