Umberto Ruggeri opened to 135,000 from the hijack with A♦3♣. Govert Metaal called with K♠10♠ from the small blind. Marle Spragg looked down at K♣Q♥ in the big blind and jammed for 1,935,000. Both opponents folded.
Segre Chechin moved all in for 725,000 from under the gun before Marle Spragg rejammed from the small blind after using a time bank. Preben Stokkan folded in the big blind. The cards went on their backs after the outer table finished the hand that they were on.
Serge Chechin: 10♣9♠
Marle Spragg: A♠Q♦
The Q♥10♠3♦ flop gave both players a pair, but Chechin was then drawing dead after the Q♣ turn. The 3♠ river completed the runout and Chechin exited in 13th place.
Adam Wagner raised to 130,000 in the cutoff and Mark Helou moved all in for 485,000 on the button. Wagner called and they waited for the hand at the main feature table to finish before showing their cards.
Mark Helou: K♣Q♣
Adam Wagner: A♥4♦
Both players hit a pair on the A♣Q♥3♥ flop, but Wagner was ahead with his aces. The J♦ turn gave Helou additional outs with a straight draw, while he spiked the K♥ on the river to make two pair and double up.
Govert Metaal opened to 125,000 from early position with K♥Q♠, and Grigorii Rodin defended his big blind with A♦9♦.
Both players paired up on the A♣K♠7♦ flop, with Rodin having the best of it. He check-called for 100,000.
The 8♦ turn checked through to the 7♣ river for Rodin to seal the checkmark. The Russian player led out for 400,000, and Metaal started to tank. He tossed a time bank card to the dealer before calling.
Marle Spragg opened to 120,000 with A♥J♣ from under the gun. Grigorii Rodin called with K♦10♦ from the button. Govert Metaal also came along from the big blind with 7♥7♠4♦.
Metaal was the only player to find something on the 7♥7♠4♦ flop and he checked. Spragg passed the action over to Rodin and he bet 120,000 and folded out both opponents.
Action folded to Jon Kyte who raised to 220,000 in the small blind. Cheng Zhao called in the big blind and they went heads-up to the 7♣K♦A♦ flop.
Kyte then bet 250,000 and Zhao called. The turn was the A♣ and Kyte checked over to Zhao, who bet 425,000. Kyte folded as Zhao overtook him on the leaderboard.
The next hand, Mark Helou tanked for a moment under the gun before folding. "He's the best player here. Just sitting there enjoying himself, making 20K an hour," Kyte said.
"Crazy good," Padraig O'Neill added.
Kyte then raised to 125,000 on the button and Adam Wagner three-bet to 450,000 in the big blind. Kyte moved all in and Wagner snap-folded.
"Bad timing," Wagner asked.
"For you, yes. Finally have a hand on the button. Tries to bully the bully," Kyte replied.
Vincent Meli raised to 125,000 with A♠6♣ from the cutoff. Preben Stokkan called from the big blind with Q♦3♦.
Stokkan check-called for 75,000 K♦Q♠10♣ flop and improved to two pair on the 3♣ turn. Both players checked, and Meli sealed the checkmark with Braodway following the J♦ river. Stokkan made a third check and folded when Meli fired out 180,000. Stokkan made the correct fold and Meli took in the pot.
Govert Metaal opened to 125,000 from the cutoff with K♦J♠. Marle Spragg three-bet to 310,000 from the button with A♣J♥. Umberto Ruggeri paid tribute to the late Doyle Brunson and four-bet to 680,000 from the big blind with 10♠2♥. It worked as he folded out Metaal and Spragg.
