Vincent Meli opened for 50,000 chips from the hijack and was three-bet by Sebastian Schulze in the cutoff, for a total of 125,000.
Meli made the call once the action folded back to him, and a 5♥2♠8♣ flop fanned out. Meli checked and Schulze followed suit, after which they did the same on the 5♠ turn.
The players followed the same recipe on the 6♣ river, and Meli tabled A♠J♠ for ace-high. Schulze also played ace-high but had the better kicker with his A♥Q♥, which won him the small pot.

On a board of J♣A♠A♥J♥3♣, Farrell bet 20,000 from the cutoff on the flop and Maria Lampropulos called from the big blind, then both players checked on the turn and the river. Lampropulos showed K♥8♥ for a simple king-high, while Farrell had Q♣Q♠.
On the next hand, Farrell opened from the hijack, but everybody folded, so he won the blinds and flipped over K♣10♣.
He raised again from middle position one hand later, and Cesar Garcia defended from the big blind. But after Farrell bet on the 3♥Q♥10♣ flop, Garcia quickly check-folded. Probably for the best, as Farrell showed A♠A♦.
Farrell finally folded preflop on the next hand. "Running bad" he laughed in front of his 1,900,000 chips.

Tobias Garp had just moved to a new table to take the place of the departed Vlado Banicevic and three-bet to 125,000 on the button his first hand after Mark Helou raised to 45,000 in the hijack.
Helou called and they saw a flop of A♣10♣8♦. Garp then bet 40,000 and Helou moved all in for 520,000. Garp called.
Mark Helou: A♥K♦
Tobias Garp: A♦Q♦
Both players had top pair, but Helou was ahead with his king-kicker as the board ran out 8♣10♠, earning him a double up.
"Not kamikaze to go all in. At this stage in the tournament I prefer playing it safe," Helou said.

Sebastian Schulze raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and Mark Helou called from the button. Vlado Banicevic then jammed all in for 280,000 from the big blind.
Schulze asked for a count and rejammed thereafter, after which Helou folded his K♣10♣ face-up.
Vlado Banicevic: K♥Q♣
Sebastian Schulze: 7♣7♦
Banicevic flopped a gutshot on 3♠A♦10♦, but no further help arrived on the 9♣2♣ runout. He was eliminated from the Main Event, while Schulze chipped back up to nearly one million chips.
"I would've won if I called," Helou noted. "But I'm not that crazy, not yet."
