There was 24,500 in the pot in a blind versus blind battle between Robbie Toan and Niklas Astedt.

On the 5♠8♥3♦9♣ board, Toan bet 11,000 and Astedt quickly called, bringing in the 9♥ river. Toan sized up to 21,000 and Astedt folded.

Toan tabled A♦3♣ for nines and threes and Astedt gave the table a knock before the next hand began.

Silva Risks Majority of Stack

Niklas Astedt opened to 3,500 from the hijack and was called by Pablo Brito Silva and Tsugunari Toma from the button and big blind.

Astedt continued for 4,000 on the J♥2♥3♣ flop and only Silva called. The latter then called a bet of 12,000 on the 6♥ turn which brought in the 10♠ river. Astedt slowed down and checked. With 51,500 behind, Silva fired out 50,000 and his opponent opted to fold.

PokerStars Announces Full Five Stop 2024 EPT Schedule

PokerStars has unveiled the full schedule for the 2024 European Poker Tour (EPT) season, which shows five destinations, including a return to EPT Paris and EPT Cyprus. Both Paris and Cyprus made their EPT debut in 2023, and they return for 2024, much to the delight of the players.

EPT Paris is the first stop of the 2024 European Poker Tour season. It takes place between February 14-25 at a new venue. The stunning Le Palais des Congres has a 120-table capacity, meaning there will be a more extensive schedule for the festival. Cedric Billot, Associate Director for Live Events and Operations, believes the new-look EPT Paris could be one of the largest EPT festivals on record.

Silva Claws Some Back

Robbie Toan opened to 2,500 from early position and was called by Paul Newey and Pablo Brito Silva from the cutoff and the button. Tsugunari Toma also defended his big blind.

Toan continued for 4,000 on the J♦9♥6♥ flop and was called by Newey. Silva made it 12,000 which folded out Toma, Toan and Newey to claim the pot.

The following hand, Niklas Astedt opened to 2,500 but quickly folded after Newey three-bet to 8,000.

Colillas on Half a Stack

It's been a rough start for PokerStars ambassador Ramon Colillas, who has already lost half of his stack after just a few hands.

Niklas Astedt had opened to 2,500 from the cutoff and picked up a call from Pablo Brito Silva from the small blind. Colillas three-bet to 11,000 from the big blind and Astedt was the only caller.

Colillas continued for 7,500 on the A♥Q♠8♥ flop and was called. The 10♦ turn then checked through to the K♥ river. With his shot clock nearly at zero, Colillas fired out 11,000 but snap-folded when Astedt moved all in as the bigger stack.

Once Astedt scooped in the pot, Tsugunari Toma took his seat at the table to bring the field to 13 players.

Shylko Folds Out Daubaris; Silva All in for Tournament Life

Aliaksandr Shylko made it 2,500 first to act and called when Deividas Daubaris three-bet to 9,000 on his direct left.

Shylko checked on the A♠K♠2♥ flop, and his opponent bet 5,500. The 2023 PSPC winner had three blue T-5,000 in his hand but just opted to call.

The Q♠ turn then checked through to the 3♥ river. Shylko led out for 20,000, and Daubaris returned his cards to the dealer.

On the second table, Pablo Brito Silva was all in for around 68,000 and at risk to Robbie Toan. Both players held AxKx and chopped the pot after the runout.
