Wakil put out a tiny bet of 2,000, which received a quick call from Miegel. On the turn Wakil checked instead, leading to Miegel taking over the initiative by betting 5,500, still less than the preflop raise. The river made the board double-paired and that caused Wakil to go deep into the tank. After spending three time bank extensions, he opted for a check. Miegel quickly checked behind and showed .
Miegel's queen kicker was good against the counterfeited pair of which Wakil showed. ''Would you have called if I shoved?'' Wakil asked his opponent, but no conclusive answer was given.
