Norel Gets There on the River to Dent Ahuja

On the first hand of the final table, Ankit Ahuja raised to 325,000 under the gun and Eduard Norel called in the cutoff.

The flop came 3♠K♣7♠ and Ahuja checked over to Norel, who bet 425,000. Ahuja called and checked again on the A♣ turn.

Norel then fired out another 1,250,000 and Ahuja again called. The river was the Q♦ and Ahuja checked for a third time.

Norel slid forward a bet of 1,900,000, sending Ahuja into the tank for about a minute before he called. Norel then turned over J♣10♣ for the rivered straight and Ahuja mucked.

Tom Vogelsang opened to 270,000 from the cutoff and Andrei Teodorescu called in the small blind before Ankit Ahuja three-bet to 1,300,000 in the big blind. Vogelsang three-bet jammed for a total of around 2,000,000 and Teodorescu folded before Ahuja called with a bigger stack.

Babak Survives a Flip

Aksel Aygun Eliminated in 12th Place ($21,475)

Aksel Aygun was in the big blind in a heads-up pot against Andrei Vavilonskii in the cutoff on a board of 5♦6♦7♣3♦.

Aygun checked on the turn and called a bet of around 500,000 from Vavilonskii. Aygun checked again on the Q♠ river and Vavilonskii moved all in as Aygun considered calling off for his tournament life with a stack of around 2,500,000. After a few minutes in the tank, Aygun called.

There would be no roses for Aksel as Vavilonskii showed K♦7♦ for a flush to beat out the Belgian's pair of threes with A♦3♠ to send him out in 12th place.

"King-seven, you like this combo!" commented Roman Gadzhiev in reference to a four-bet pot from the previous level.

Gadzhiev Is Bluffing; Aygun Isn't

Heads-up on a flop of 6♥3♦8♦, Andrei Vavilonskii bet 200,000 from under the gun and Roman Gadzhiev called in the big blind.

Both players checked the K♣ turn before Gadzhiev led out for 400,000 on the K♠ river. Vavilonskii tanked for about a minute before calling.

"Why can't you fold," Gadzhiev said with a laugh as he showed Q♦9♥ for a bluff. Vavilonskii turned over 7♦6♦ to win the pot.

A few hands later, Aksel Aygun raised to 225,000 in the hijack and Eduard Norel defended his big blind.

Both players checked the 2♦6♠J♠ flop before Norel led out for 450,000 on the J♥ turn. Aygun called to see the A♠ river.

Norel then checked and Aygun slid forward a bet of 705,000. Norel tanked for a few minutes before calling as Aygun turned over J♦J♣ for quads.

"If you bet the flop we get it in," Norel told him before mucking.
