Another day of play in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 EPT Main Event concluded after six levels of action and PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot is among the leaders with a bag of 2,145,000 chips as he marches into Day 4.

Talbot is one of the remaining 30 players who are still in contention to hoist the prestigious EPT trophy, but he will have his work cut out for him on Day 4. Among those returning to challenge for the title are number-one ranked online player Simon Mattsson, high-stakes powerhouse Timothy Adams, two-time World Series of Poker Main Event Final Tablist Antoine Saout and Day 3 chip leader Luigi D'Alterio.

Another player to keep your eyes on in this tournament is online superstar Conor Beresford, who has over $17,000,000 in online cashes to his name. He has already beaten his finish from EPT London (31st) in October and will be looking to go much deeper here in Prague.

Plenty of Big Names Fall During Day 3

The field of 117 players that came back for Day 3 reduced steadily with a host of household names unable to traverse their way through the day's play.

PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas made back-to-back EPT Day 3’s but he was eliminated midway through the day by Frenchman Antoine Labat. Labat's own run was cut short by Beresford's pocket aces on the feature table, while Pascal Lefrancois bowed out when his pocket sixes couldn’t hold versus the ace-king of Abel Aspas.

Other big names that fell during Day 3 include Gaelle Baumann, Mike Watson and Marcin Horecki.

Arjel Daci raised to 45,000 from under the gun and Jun Obara three-bet to 150,000 on the button. Daci just called and the dealer fanned the flop of {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Daci checked to Obara who bet 80,000 and Daci check-raised to 200,000 which Obara called.

Natan Chauskin opened to 30,000 from under the gun and Abel Aspas three-bet to 85,000 on the button. Javier Gomez Zapatero four-bet to 200,000 from the small blind which got Chauskin to fold but Aspas called.

Four time banks later, Aspas finally called as his clock was winding down. Gomez Zapatero turned over {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} for a set of kings while Aspas showed his {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Antoine Saout opened for 35,000 in middle position. In the small blind, Pascal Lefrancois moved all in for 175,000. Abel Aspas cold-called from the big blind. Saout thought for a while, but he let it go to let the other two fight for the pot.

Pascal Lefrancois: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Abel Aspas: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Lefrancois saw a window card he didn't want to see when the {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} hit the board. The {9-Clubs} turn and {2-Spades} river finished the job and Lefrancois was eliminated.

Rasmussen Ran Down By Zapatero's Combo Draw

Nível 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Javier Gomez Zapatero
Javier Gomez Zapatero

Just before the break, a big hand took place on the time-delayed feature table.

Under the gun, Javier Gomez Zapatero had {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and he opened to 25,000. In the hijack, Reino Rasmussen picked up {a-Spades}{j-Spades} and made the call. Behind him, Antoine Saout called with {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Abel Aspas also made the call in the big blind.

The flop came out {10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}. Aspas checked, Zapatero checked his combo draw, and Rasmussen bet 65,000. Saout folded, and Aspas called. Back on Zapatero, he check-raised to 150,000. Rasmussen moved all in for 297,000. Aspas got out of the way, but Zapatero made the call to head to a runout with Rasmussen at risk.

The turn was no help in the {9-Clubs}, but a pained Rasmussen watched the {3-Diamonds} hit the river to end his tournament and put Zapatero back in the chip lead.

Aces Cracked Again, Saout Scores the Double

Nível 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Antoine Saout
Antoine Saout

Antoine Saout {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} opened in early position. He ran into a three-bet from Jerry Odeen {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} in the hijack to 72,000. In the cutoff, Pascal Lefrancois {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} four-bet to 165,000.

Back on Saout, he tanked for a while before ripping in his stack of 711,000. Odeen got out of the way, and Lefrancois snapped it off.

All in and at risk Saout was queen hunting, and he wasn't aware that Odeen already folded one. The flop showed up {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}, no help at all. The turn was the miracle {q-Diamonds}, catapulting Saout into the lead. The river was a {2-Hearts} to complete the unlikely double for Saout and take a big chunk off of Lefrancois.
