With record fields in the €1,100 Eureka Main Event and €2,200 Eureka High Roller, it was not much of a surprise that the flagship tournament of the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague festival at the Hilton Hotel Prague also set a record as well.
The tournament drew a record-breaking field of 1,267 entries (from 918 unique players) and beat the previous record attendance of the 2016 edition. Back then, the event was held in a freezeout format and attracted an impressive 1,192 entries.
Only the top 183 finishers will receive a portion of the €6,144,940 prize pool and a massive top prize of €1,054,500 awaits for the eventual champion on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Until then, it is still a long way to go while it seems all but certain that the money bubble will burst on Day 2.
A total of 62 countries were represented and France leads the way with 95 players(10.4%), followed by Italy (90 players / 9.8%), Germany (75 players / 8.2%), the United Kingdom (46 players / 5.0%), and Spain (40 players / 4.4%).
The March edition of this very event which had been rescheduled due to the global coronavirus pandemic drew a total of 1,190 entries to narrowly miss out on a new record. It featured 885 unique players from 58 countries with France (99) leading the way ahead of Germany (81), Italy (77), the United Kingdom (46), the Netherlands and Poland (both 42).
