Platinum Pass Up for Grabs in £3,000 Mystery Bounty; Kicks Off at 3 P.M.

Platinum Pass
Platinum Pass

Welcome to another event at the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour London, which is hosted at the fantastic Hilton Park Lane. Today's action sees Day 1 of the EPT Platinum Pass Mystery Bounty play out, which begins at 3 p.m. local time.

This is the third Mystery Bounty Event at EPT London, and follows the £10,200 Mystery Bounty and the £440 UKIPT Mystery Bounty Cup, which were won by Juan Pardo (£80,280) and Henrik Veldhoem (£39,716) respectively.

While those events were thrilling in their own right, there's an extra shine on this edition as a huge $30,000 Platinum Pass to the PokerStars Players Championship is up for grabs when the mystery bounties come into play on Day 2.

The plan of action for Day 1 is to play twelve 40-minute levels, with breaks taking place every two hours. Entrants begin with 30,000 starting stack and will need to bag and tag a stack to make it through to the second stage. Blinds will begin at 100/100 and a 100 big blind ante will be in play from the get go.

All players who survive Day 1 will receive a mystery bounty token and will be able to claim any prizes after 3 p.m. on Day 2. Possible prizes could be as followed, but are not limited to:

£100,000£10,000
£50,000£5,000
£30,000£1,000
£15,000£500

Late registration is open until the start of Day 2, so players are able to bypass the first day of play should they wish to.

Aces for Guimond

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante
Florian Guimond
Florian Guimond

Pauline Loeliger opened to 800 from early position before Niko Koop raised to 2,500 on the button. Florian Guimond four-bet to 7,000 from the big blind and only Koop called.

Guimond continued for 5,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop. Koop then made it 11,000 which Guimond called. Guimond, who had 9,800 behind, check-called for his tournament life after Koop put him all-in on the {q-Hearts} turn.

Florian Guimond: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Niko Koop: {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

Guimond aces were ahead but Koop had a host of outs. The latter had a flush draw and a double gutter, as well as a gut-shot straight flush draw.

The {j-Hearts} river was of no help to Koop and Guimond scooped the sizeable pot.

Lynskey Flops Quads

Nível 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Alexander Lynskey
Alexander Lynskey

With around 11,000 in the middle and the board reading {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, Luciano Macchiarelli was heads-up in a pot with Alex Lynskey. Macchiarelli led out with a bet of 7,000 in the small blind and Lynskey just called from the hijack.

The {3-Hearts} completed the board and Macchiarelli ripped all in for around 13,000. Lynskey instantly slid out chips to call and Macchiarelli tabled {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flush. Lynskey flipped over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} for quad aces and Macchiarelli was sent to the rail.

Bruno Fitoussi: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Jeffrey Hakim: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}

Kobbelvedt Leaves Guilbert on Crumbs

Nível 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

There was a massive pot brewing between Alexander Kobbeltvedt and Johan Guilbert on Table 3 with the board reading {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Kobbelvedt was all in on the turn for a little over 70,000 and Guilbert was in the tank for a couple of minutes.

Eventually, the clock was called and Guilbert was forced to make a decision. Guilbert called with the larger of the two stacks and Kobbelvedt was at risk with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Luckily for him, the {6-Clubs} completed the board to give the Norwegian a straight who started shouting some Norwegian bullocks throughout the room.

After returning to his seat, Kobbelveldt had calmed down and had a pile of chips that needed to be stacked, whereas Guilbert was left with a minuscule 1,500 chips.

Gary Miller
Gary Miller

There was a three-way all in on Table 4 with the board reading {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} and it was Alex Lynskey who was at risk with the short stack of around 20,000. Nikolaos Lampropoulos was at risk for around 20,000 more and Gary Miller had both players covered.

Alex Lynskey: {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Nikolaos Lampropoulos: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Gary Miller: {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

All three players held a flush draw but it was Miller who was out front with the only pair. The {q-Clubs} paired the board on the river and Miller held on to eliminate both of his opponents.

Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit

Mustapha Kanit and Michael Bernstein were heads-up in a pot with the board reading {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Bernstein was all in for 15,500 on the turn and Kanit quickly called to put him at risk.

Bernstein turned over {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for top pair but was drawing dead to the {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} of Kanit who flopped a set. The insignificant {2-Spades} hit the river and Kanit dragged in another pot, sending him into the chip lead.

Gilbert Goes into the Tank

Johan Guilbert
Johan Guilbert

During the Player Break

Action was caught on the river, with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board on show. Johan Guilbert, from under the gun, bet 5,000 into a pot of 14,400.

Laszlo Molnar, on the button, raised to 11,000 and Guilbert went into one of his patented tanks. Six minutes passed, with Guilbert on occasion looking under the table, presumably to see if his opponent had a case of 'happy feet,'

Molnar called the clock and after 20 seconds, Guilbert flicked in the call. Molnar had the {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, for two pair and scooped the pot after Guilbert mucked.

Mario Navarro

Mario Navarro jammed for 4,100 from under the gun and was called by Santosh Suvarna and Kyriakos Papadopoulos from the blinds.

Action checked all the to showdown, with the final board reading {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Suvarna had pocket deuces, while Papadopoulos flopped a pair of nines. Navarro had both players beat as he turn trip aces while holding the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to get a much needed boost.
