Choi Doubles Through Aldemir

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With a flop of {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} spread across the table, both Koray Aldemir and Stanley Choi checked from the blinds. Ahadpur Khangah bet 12,000 and Aldemir check-raised to 37,000. Choi shipped all in for 122,000 which got Khangah to fold but Aldemir quickly called.

Stanley Choi: {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Koray Aldemir: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The {2-Clubs} on the turn and the {5-Clubs} on the river bricked off for Aldemir and he sent a double up to Choi.

Greenwood Eyes Another EPT Super High Roller Title

Sam Greenwood
Sam Greenwood

Twelve months ago Sam Greenwood took down the PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour €100,000 Super High Roller for €1,520,000, beating Christoph Vogelsang heads-up for the title.

Since then he's added over $4.5m to his lifetime earnings, thanks to two seven-figure scores in Korea, and another $100,000 Super High Roller title at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.

Now Greenwood is well-placed at the start of Day 2 of this €100,000 Super High Roller tournament, and is looking to defend his title here in Monaco.

However, he will be hard-pushed by a whole host of names, including the aforementioned Vogelsang. Sam's brother Luc sits sixth in chips, behind Day 1 chip leader Wiktor Malinowski (1,042,000), 2018 EPT Barcelona Super High Roller runner-up Ahadpur Khangah (985,000), Isaac Haxton (953,000), Sergio Aido (880,000) and Michael Soyza (813,000).

29 players made it through Day 1, but with late registration open until the start of Day 2 - and players including Matthias Eibinger already hinting at jumping back in - expect that number to rise further still.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for continued coverage of the European Poker Tour's biggest buy-in event.
