"Anyone smell a meltdown?" Matt Broughton asked on the live stream. It pretty much summed up Leonardo Pires' last 90 minutes.
After being crippled in the last hand of Level 25,everyone wondered whether he'd be able to recover after the break. He didn't make the crowd wait long to find out the answer.
In the first hand back from break, Mike Watson raised to 90,000 from the hijack and Ken Demlakian called from the cutoff. When action reached Pires in the big blind, he just moved all in for 1.65 million. Watson shoved all in over the top and Demlakian got out of the way.

Pires opted to shove with a weak hand, but he got a sweat when the flop paired his three. Unfortunately for him, the spiked on the turn to leave him drawing dead to Watson's set.
The meaningless was put out on the river, and the start-of-the-day chip leader, who has been the overall chip leader the last couple of days, took his leave in 13th place for $45,860.
Randy Kritzer raised to 80,000 under the gun and Leonardo Pires made it 178,000 from his direct left. The action folded back to Kritzer, and he made the call.
The flop brought out and Kritzer checked to Pires, who moved all in right away. Kritzer called all in for 903,000 and another huge pot was created.

The turn brought the and the river the , giving Kritzer a full double up, leaving Pires with less than the average stack for the first time in over four days. Pires went from 6.2 million to 1,790,000 in one level, and the players are now on break.
Stephen Chidwick moved all in for 251,000 under the gun and the action folded to the last remaining EPT winner, Toby Lewis, and he moved all in from the small blind as well. The big blind folded and the showdown went as follows.

The board ran out and Chidwick shook hands with Lewis, as he was knocked out from the tournament.
David Eldridge raised to 65,000 from the button, Phillip McAllister called from the small blind, and Tony Gregg called from the big to make it three-way action to the flop, which they all checked.
The turn saw McAllister lead out for 138,000, Gregg folded, and Eldridge called to see the river. McAllister fired out 346,000, and Eldridge tanked for two minutes before making the call.
McAllister rapped the table and then mucked when Eldridge showed the winning .
Vladimir Troyanovskiy raised to 65,000 and Ken Demlakian called from the cutoff. Randy Kritzer called from the small blind and Leonardo Pires made it 384,000 from the big blind.
Troyanovskiy tanked for a little while before moving all in for 1,519,000 and everyone folded quickly.
