Grospellier Takes from Yaghmai

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

In the previous hand, Vladimir Troyanovskiy successfully four-bet to 43,000 against Ole Schemion to force a fold and then opened to 5,000 right after. Bertrand Grospellier in the cutoff and Nariman Yaghmai on the button called and the action headed three-ways to the flop of {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}.

Troyanovskiy continued for 10,000 and both his opponents called before the {9-Hearts} appeared on the turn. The Russian now checked and Grospellier bet 24,000. Only Yaghmai called, then the {5-Spades} on the river paired the board. Grospellier checked and Yaghmai checked behind to muck once the Frenchman showed him {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the ten-high straight.

Jean-Noel Thorel Eliminated

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

From first position, Orpen Kisacikoglu opened the action with a raise to 5,100. [Removed:17] called from the cutoff, big blind Jean-Noel Thorel closed the action by tossing in calling chips as well.

Both Thorel and Kisacikoglu checked on {J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Yan bet 9,000. Thorel was quick to check-raise to 26,000 and Kisacikoglu immediately laid it down. Yan called.

The turn was the {K-Diamonds} and Thorel pushed all in for what appeared to be around 45,000 in chips. Yan called right away.

[Removed:17]: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

The {9-Hearts} on the river made Yan quads and Thorel made his exit from the tournament with a useless full house.

Kabrhel Leaves Greenwood Short

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} turn, Martin Kabrhel checked out of the big blind and Sam Greenwood bet 10,000, which Kabrhel called. On the {9-Hearts} river, Kabrhel checked again and then joked in table chat to Isaac Haxton. "Do you want to bet? I think he will bet exactly 38,600," Kabrhel said and the table started smiling already.

Haxton didn't take the bet, then Greenwood made it 22,000 to go. Kabrhel called with the {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for two pair and had Greenwood's {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} beat, leaving his opponent rather short towards the end of the level.

Fatehi Hero Calls

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Vojtech Ruzicka bet about 8,000 from the big blind on a board of {2-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Ali Reza Fatehi called from the button. Ruzicka bet 18,500 on the {5-Clubs} river and Fatehi called fairly quickly. Ruzicka showed {k-}{6-} for king-high, and Fatehi could beat that: {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}.

Silver and Thomas Claim Pots

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Hand 1

Mikita Badziakouski raised from under the gun and picked up calls by Ole Schemion and Max Silver in the big blind. On the {K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Silver checked and Badziakouski bet 4,500. Schemion called, then both got out of the way when Silver had check-raised to 20,000.

Hand 2

One hand later, Vladimir Troyanovskiy raised it up to 5,000 from under the gun and Bertrand Grospellier called. Julian Thomas three-bet to 18,500 on the button and Troyanovskiy as well as Grospellier tossed in the additional chips.

After a flop of {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}, all three players checked. The {7-Hearts} on the turn saw Troyanovskiy bet 28,500 and Grospellier folded, Thomas called. After the {10-Spades} river, the action then slowed down and both players checked. Troyanovskiy was first to show after the button and flipped over {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Thomas had that beat with {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and won the pot.

Kisacikoglu Bests Thorel

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel opened to 5,000 and Orpen Kisacikoglu three-bet to 15,000 from one seat over, picking up the call by the Frenchman. On the {J-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} flop, both players invested 10,000 each and the {10-Clubs} on the turn then went check, check.

Thorel bet the {9-Hearts} river for 50,000, around the size of the pot, and Kisacikoglu gave it plenty of consideration before calling. Thorel shrugged and slowly turned over his {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, which Kisacikoglu had beat with {A-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair.

Small Pots and Asian Hippos

Nível 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Hippopotamus Card Protector
Hippopotamus Card Protector

Steve O'Dwyer stopped by one table over and admired Martin Kabrhel's chip protector in the shape of a small hippo. O'Dwyer picked it up, and Kabrhel told him he (the hippo) wasn't too happy today, because of Isaac Haxton (presumably winning a lot of pots).

"Ike doesn't like animals..." Kabrhel said at one point while O'Dwyer had put the small hippo statue back on the table.

"That's right!" Haxton admitted with a big smile. "I like to eat them, though!"

"Have you eaten hippo?" Kabrhel asked while he raised to 4,500 from the button.

As Sergio Aido folded his small blind, Haxton called from the big blind and replied "No, have you?" with some sincere wondering in his voice.

"I don't know... Maybe in Asia. I think so" Kabrhel said as the flop came {K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Haxton checked, and called the 4,000 bet that followed, before saying "Asia? I'm pretty sure they don't have hippos in Asia. They're in Africa."

While Steve O'Dwyer was looking up whether hippo's live in Asia or not (spoiler; they don't, while O'Dwyer did find a YouTube clip called Asian hippo?), both Haxton and Kabrhel checked the {J-Diamonds} on the turn.

The {9-Hearts} completed the board and Haxton bet out 15,000.

"But they import them, to eat" Kabrhel defended before going into the tank for some time. He at one point cut out three 25,000-chips, but folded in the end.
