Lin In The Danger Zone

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Celina Lin
Celina Lin

Team PokerStars Pro Celina Lin came into the day relatively short, and just lost almost half her stack.

The hand began when France's Erwann Pecheux opened for 1,800 and it folded to Lin in the small blind. She three-bet to 5,200 and Pecheux called.

They went heads-up to a {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Lin continued for 4,600. Pecheux called, and they both checked the {5-Spades} turn. Lin also checked the {7-Hearts} river and Pecheux pounced, making it 7,300.

Lin folded, leaving herself 20 big blinds behind.

Leo Margets Hits the Rail

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Juan Etcheverry raised it up from early position and Leo Margets made the call from the small blind. Big blind Markku Koplimaa came along as well and the three of them saw a flop of {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Margets and Koplimaa both checked and Etcheverry made a bet of 3,000, Marget check raised to 7,500 with about 12,500 behind. Koplimaa folded and Etcheverry shoved all in. Margets called.

Juan Etcheverry: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Leo Margets: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

Margets needed help, but wouldn't get it. The {8-Spades} on the turn was not low enough, and the {A-Clubs} on the river didn't do her good either. Margets eliminated.

Buis Not Busted

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

PokerStars qualifier Mark Buis started out with a short stack of 12,300 today, but doubled up early on. After a raise he shoved all in with pocket nines and the original raiser called with sevens. A nine on the turn sealed the deal for him.

Not much later he folded {A-}{K-} pre flop and it turned out to be a good one, as the aggressor in the hand turned out to have {A-}{A-} in the end. So far, so good for Buis!

Tough Luck For These Players

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

With more than 500 players still in the tournament it's pretty rare to get seated at a table with a string of established professionals, but these two are especially stacked today. The latter table that includes Patrik Antonius will be the featured table on EPT Live. You can watch the live stream with hole cards up by clicking on this link.

The Man In Charge

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Albert Daher
Albert Daher

Chip leader Albert Daher appears to have started the day relatively tight, and already sitting with a chip stack that would ordinarily be enough to keep him among the leaders even after Day 2, who can blame him.

He pretty much folded for the first half of the first level, but when Martin Finger opened for 1,800 from late position, he sprung into action, three-betting the small blind to 5,200. Finger stared him down, thinking it over for a good three minutes before letting it go.

"First hand of the day," said Daher.

"Great, that makes me feel better," added Finger.

Strong Start for Neuville

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Two-time EPT runner-up Pierre Neuville came into the day with just 12,000 chips, but so far things have been going his way as we've spotted him sitting on 39,000.

Just now Neuville raised to 1,600 from late position, and one player called from the small blind. The flop brought out {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{7-Spades} and both players checked quickly. On the turn the {5-Hearts} hit and Neuville picked up the pot with a bet of 2,100.

Yesterday - on Neuville's day off - he caught up with our own Sarah Herring to talk about a new poker team he's involved in. Neuville's working with one of the best dentists in Europe - Jochem Heibach from Cologne - to provide a priority service for poker players with dental issues.

Here's the video in which Neuville and Heibach explain their new and unique cooperation.

Juanda Looks For The Double

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

Class of 2015 Poker Hall of Fame inductee John Juanda wasn't sitting with the kind of stack that would intimidate anyone.

And so, he was likely looking for the double up when he shoved in for 17,900 over a 2,100 early-position open.

The original raiser folded, however, and after he showed the {a-Spades}, Juanda showed the {a-Diamonds}. No matter what the kicker, it appears Juanda will have to find that double elsewhere.

A Top Secret River Battle Between Boeree and Kagawa

Nível 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree

We just saw a board showing {J-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and with around 28,000 in the middle Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree bet 16,000 from the small blind.

Boeree awaited Rintaro Kagawa's decision - who was seated to her direct right - and ultimately de Japanese player moved all in.

Immediately Boeree let out a deep sigh, and she shook her head being faced with a decision for her tournament life.

"You hit the three?" Boeree asked.

"My English no good," Kagawa said.

"Did you hit this card?" Boeree pointed at the river.

"It's a secret," Kagawa responded, as he crossed his fingers in front of his mouth.

Boeree and the other players at the table were amused by Kagawa's colorfull explanation, but the former EPT San Remo winner stayed in the tank.

About 20 seconds later Boeree asked Kagawa, "You have a good hand?"

Once again Kagawa said, "My English no good."

"You want me to go home?" Boeree joked at Kagawa.

"Top secret" Kagawa then said, as he once again crossed his fingers in front of his mouth, and the table cracked up again.

Boeree ultimately folded, leaving herself with 27,000 chips, and Kagawa mucked his cards.

"Show please?" Boeree pleaded, "Please show one?"

"Top secret!" Kagawa said again as he pushed his cards into the, and his chances of completing his mission of winning this event just became a little better.
