After an open, Alexander Ivarsson three-bet to 67,000 from the cutoff. Niall Farrell then four-bet to 164,000 from the button, the original raiser folded, and Ivarsson called to see the flop. Ivarsson check-called a bet of 105,000 and then both players checked the turn.
When the appeared on the river, action repeated itself and Ivarsson showed that he'd been trapping with the .
The tournament staff informed the field to hold up after their current hand in order to conduct the three-table redraw. Unfortunately for Erik Scheidt, he didn't make it.
His demise came when he opened for 25,000 only to have Nabil Mohamed Abdien Cardoso three-bet to 70,000. Scheidt responded by four-betting all in for roughly 320,000, and Cardoso made a quick call.
Scheidt:
Cardoso:
It was a flip, but Scheidt was the one looking to improve. The flop wasn't what he was looking for, and neither was the turn. Scheidt needed either an ace or king on the river to stay alive, but it wasn't meant to be as the bricked.
Faraz Jaka was in first position and opened. Antonio Mitrotta was short with just 219,000 and pushed his chips (and luck) with from under the gun plus one. Jaka called with and saw his hand hold up: . Down to 24!
Alen Bilic first opened to 26,000 from the hijack and picked up calls from Bjorn Geissert on the button and Antonio Chemi in the small blind. The flop came and Chemi checked. Bilic fired 33,000 and just Geissert called, Chemi folded. Bilic fired another 82,000 on the turn and Geissert called again. The river made for four hearts on the board and Bilic bet 133,000. Geissert folded.
The next hand Bilic opened to 26,000 and Antonio Chemi shoved all in from the button for 139,000. Both blinds folded and Bilic called.
While Kevin Lee Sharp was busting at one table, Mike "Timex" McDonald was felted on another.
McDonald, who has been having a remarkable EPT12 Malta including a win in the €25K High Roller, managed to double his short stack through Nabil Mohamed Abdien Cardoso, but the Spaniard managed to deliver the knockout blow shortly there after.
It happened when Cardoso opened for 26,000 under the gun and McDonald defended from the big blind. When the flop came down , McDonald shoved his last 54,000 and Cardoso snapped him off.
Cardoso:
McDonald:
McDonald went with his gutshot, and while the turn paired his king, his kicker was inferior to that of Cardoso. The was a blank on the river, and McDonald hit the rail in 27th for €17,840, money he used to immediately register the €10K High Roller taking place just across the room.
Kevin Lee Sharp was all in from under the gun plus one and faced Faraz Jaka on the button in battle. Jaka had and Sharp was in good position to double up with . The flop favored Sharp with . The on the turn was a blank but the on the river certainly wasn't. Jaka riverd a straight and knocked out Sharp in 26th place.
Over on the feature table we saw a massive three way all in. Lodden in early position, Sikora in the hijack and Turtiainen in the big blind had all of their chips in the middle before the flop. The main pot was 466,000, the side pot was a bit bigger with 844,000.
Johnny Lodden:
Mikko Turtiainen:
Jaroslaw Sikora:
The flop gave Lodden some outs with , but the on the turn and on the river were blanks and Lodden made his exit in 29th place while Turtiainen finished in 28th place.
