Kuiper Loses to Yoon

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Brian Yoon opened to 4,500 from early position and right next to him sat Kuiper making it 13,400. Action folded back around to Yoon and he called.

Yoon check called a bet of 14,900 on {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} and both players checked the {5-Diamonds} on the turn. The {6-Clubs} completed the board and Yoon bet out 45,500. Kuiper called, but mucked his cards upon being shown {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} by Yoon.

Serafimov Busts to Husson

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ivan Luca raised to 4,000 and Pierre Husson just called before Sergey Serafimov moved all in from the big blind. Luca folded but Husson called with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. Serafimov was at risk with {A-}{7-} and failed to improve on a board {8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Small Pot for Piotrowski

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Przemyslaw Piotrowski has spent the entire day thus far and just played a small pot against Christoph Vogelsang and one further player. On the {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Vogelsang checked in the big blind, the third player in the hand checked as well and Piotrowski bet 7,000. Only Vogelsang called and they then checked down the {K-Clubs} turn and {2-Clubs} river.

Vogelsang showed the {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a busted gutshot and Piotrowski took down the pot with the {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Other notables on the table include Davidi Kitai and Gaelle Baumann.

Natalie Hof

Natalie Hof moved all in for her last 18,000 chips with pocket sevens and Jesper Feddersen reshoved from the small blind with pocket queens. The board ran out king-high without hit for either player and Hof had to take her belongings.

The Great Debate -- Does Asking "Check" Constitute a Check

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Chris Hunichen
Chris Hunichen

A small hand just took place between Khorshid Sakhra and Chris Hunichen that called into question what constitutes a check. Let's start from the beginning.

Sakhra opened for 4,600 from late position and Hunichen defended from the big blind. Both players checked the {5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop, and then Hunichen bet 4,200 on the {2-Hearts} turn. Sakhra made the call and then Hunichen announced a check on the {Q-Diamonds} river.

"Check?" Sakhra asked in a tone that indicated a question. The dealer, who took it as such, replied in the affirmative. "Did he check?" Sakhra asked again just to be clear. The dealer reiterated that Hunichen had in fact checked.

However, with "check" being the first word out of Sakhra's mouth, Hunichen assumed that he had checked and nearly tabled his hand.

"Did you check?" Hunichen asked Sakhra, who stated that he did not. He then placed put a minimum bet of 2,000. "We may need to get a floor over here," Hunichen stated.

It was his belief, based upon prior experiences, that regardless of tone, Sakhra said the word check, so it needed to stand as such. The dealer explained that it was a question, but Hunichen, who understood that fact, was adamant it didn't matter.

A floor person was called, who listened to the situation and agreed with the dealer, stating the 2,000 bet would stand. Hunichen was not satisfied.

Tournament Director Toby Stone was then called over. He first listened to Hunichen's version of events, and then turned his attention to the dealer. After taking everything into consideration, Stone ruled that "in fairness of the game" the bet would stand.

"It's a terrible ruling," Hunichen blatantly quipped. Nonetheless, it was the ruling and action was on him.

By this point several players at the table were visibly frustrated, and before long one of them called the clock. The original floor person, who hadn't left the table, began the one-minute countdown, and Hunichen let every single second tick off before his hand was declared dead.

Just for kickers, Sakhra showed the {Q-Spades}.

Jouhkimainen Won't Go Anywhere

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

The cards were almost rushed away but the {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts} of Joni Jouhkimainen still visible. The young Finn just doubled through Mihails Morozovs after betting the turn and shoving the river of a jack-high board with a full house. Morozovs was unable to beat that and lost some chips.

Farrell Spots Carrel's Bluff

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Kacper Pyzara opened to 4,000 and Niall Farrell called from the cutoff, so did Charlie Carrell in the big blind. The trio checked through the {5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} flop and 10c] turn before Carrell bet the {A-Hearts} river for 16,100. Pyzara folded but Farrell reluctantly called to get shown a complete bluff by Carrell, taking down the pot with the {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The table is definitely one of the most challenging right now with Atanas Kavrakov, Dylan Linde, Adrian Mateos and Ludovic Riehl also seated right there.

Alexander Ivarsson
Alexander Ivarsson

After an open raise, Alexander Ivarsson three-bet to 12,500 from the button and Raoul Refos four-bet to 32,000 in the big blind. The initial raiser folded and Ivarsson then moved all in via five-bet shove. Refos, a regular on the European Poker Tour and hailing from the Netherlands, eventually called off for around 85,000 chips with the {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Ivarsson tabled {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

The board ran out {9-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and the Swede scooped yet another big pot.
