Kurganov Calls With Ace High

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

As we approached the table the turn was alreadyout with the board reading {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}. Both Alex Lindop (hijack) and Igor Kurganov (cutoff) checked. Not all that much action but the river was interesting. The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Lindop bet 6,275. Kurganov thought about it for a bit before calling.

"Ace high" Lindop said without showing. Kurganov tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} and took it down.

Update on the Defending Champ

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

After a player in middle position opened for 900, defending champ Jean Montury called from the small blind. The player in the big did the same, and three players took a flop of {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Two checks saw the original raiser continued for 1,600, and Montury decided to check.

That's when the player in the big blind woke up with a check-raise to 4,800, which inspired both the original raiser and Montury to released their hands.

Meanwhile, EPT8 London champ Benny Spindler has been eliminated from the tournament.

Kitai is Going to Win this Tournament

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Davidi Kitai open shoved his last 8,300 from middle position and his neighbor Rocco Palumbo called from the hijack. Action folded around and it was time for the Belgian and Italian to open their cards.

Davidi Kitai: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Rocco Palumbo: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

"If I win this pot, I win the tournament" Davidi Kitai said. Well, we guess he's going to be the second double EPT champion winner then as the board ran out {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Kitai doubled.

"Everyone Loves a Chopped Pot!"

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

That's a famous saying here on the EPT, and in a recent hand it certainly proved true.

It happened when Remi Castaignon opened for what looked to be 1,000 from the hijack and Germany's Jonathan Currle flatted from the cutoff. Hani Bahna then three-bet to 7,000 from the small blind, and after thinking about it for 30 seconds or so, Castaignon moved all in for 30,800. Somewhat surprising, Currle quietly announced a call.

Bahna seemed a bit shocked by the sudden turn of events and he hit the tank. Eventually he found a fold of what he said was pocket kings.

Castaignon: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Currle: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Neither player seemed surprised to discover their opponent held the same hand, but as Connor Drinan well knows, four-flushed boards do happen. The {5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop gave Currle the freeroll to running spades, and the {J-Spades} turn made it a reality. Fortunately for Castaignon, the harmless {10-Clubs} peeled off on the river and he received half the pot.

Despite losing 7,000 in the hand, Bahna seemed excited to have escaped without losing more.

Jaka Headed in the Right Direction

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

With roughly 4,000 in the pot and a flop of {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, Faraz Jaka checked from middle position and the player in the cutoff did the same. The UK's Mudasser Hussain then bet 1,100 from the button, only Jaka called, and it was heads-up action to the {3-Hearts} turn, which both players checked.

When the {5-Spades} completed the board on the river, Jaka led out for 3,800 and Mudasser tossed in a single chip to signify a call. Jaka tabled the {j-Spades}{k-Clubs} for top pair, and it was good as Mudasser mucked.

De Meulder Runs Queens Into Aces

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Matthias De Meulder three bet before the flop and found his neighbor Alexander Rocha cold four bet. De Meulder called and check called another 4,300 on {7-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. Both players checked the {6-Clubs} on the turn and the {6-Diamonds} hit the river. De Meulder bet out 6,300 and his opponent called after some minutes of thinking. De Meulder already knew he was beat and only flashed his {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}, Rocha showed {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} and took it down.

Mosele Shoves the River

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Cristiano Blanco opened for 900 from middle position and Paul Berende called from the hijack. Massimo Mosele then three-bet to 2,400 from the cutoff, and after the button and blinds got out of the way, his two opponents both called to see the {7-Hearts}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, which they all checked.

Two more checks on the {5-Spades} turn saw Mosele bet 2,800, Blanco folded, and Berende called. When the {10-Hearts} completed the board on the river, Berende checked and then snap-folded when Mosele moved all in.
