With just 34 players remaining in the 2015 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event, all already guaranteed €26,500 at this point, today shouldn't be too long a day. The plan is to either play down to 16 players, or five full 90-minute levels.
Jose Carlos Garcia from Poland is leading with 1,710,000 in chips. That's 170 big blinds at the moment, as the first level will be 5,000/10,000 with a 1,000 ante. Second in chips is high roller Connor "blanconegro" Drinan with just over a million in chips. Fabrice Soulier, third on France's all time money list, is the short stack coming in with just 73,000.
PokerStars Team Pro is still well represented with Johnny Lodden (728,000), Andre Akkari (574,000) and Jason Mercier (539,000) still in contention. PokerStars Team Online pro Isaac Haxton is second shortest with just 112,000 in chips. We imagine Table 2 being picked as the feature table today, as that features both Lodden and Mercier, as well as Geilich (346,000), Kanit (213,000) and Chidwick (393,000).
Play starts at noon (in about half an hour), so sit back and enjoy another day of EPT Grand Final Main Event coverage, right here on PokerNews.com!

Quan Zhou opened to 24,000 from middle position and right next to him, Pierre Neuville in the hijack shoved for 165,000. Action folded back to Zhou who tanked for a fair bit. He asked the dealer to pull in the 24,000, and tanked some more.
After about a minute or two, Zhou grabbed his card protector coin, flipped it, and instantly called as he saw the result.

The flop () and turn () were blanks, but the river was the that helped Neuville secure the double up. He got up, praised the poker Gods, and started stacking.

It's been an interesting few hands for Philippe Narboni. It all started when he opened for 26,000 from the hijack. Josh Prager was in the big blind and re-raised to 86,000. Narboni thought for a moment before four-betting to nearly 200,000. Prager five-bet jams and gets called by Narboni.
Prager:

The board ran out and Mateos fist-pumped as the dealer reached out to gather the chips for the count. After the results were tallied, Mateos moved up to about 720,000 whilst Narboni was left with a solitary 1,000 chip behind, enough for one ante.
"Chip and a chair," said table-mate Juan Martin Pastor.
"That would be so cool," came the response from Paon.
In the next hand Narboni was automatically all-in, and ended up chopping with against Paon's on .
His remaining 4,000 went in on the next hand, and this time clashed with Isaac Haxton who held . However Narboni had found a proper hand, and doubled with on .
However, his luck was to run out. With 4,000 behind after posting the big blind and ante, Mateos opened from the cut-off for 20,000. He called all-in and the cards were turned over.
Mateos:
Narboni:
The board was and Narboni was eliminated, and his 'chip and a chair' adventure was over.

Felix Stephensen open shoved his last 92,000 from early position and Juan Martin Pastor made the call, and so did Pierre Neuville.
The flop came and Pastor checked. Neuville now moved all in and Pastor made the call.

The fell on the turn and Stephensen was drawing dead. "Another jack please" Pastor asked.
And wouldn't you know it, on the river, making Pastor a higher full house and sending both Stephensen and Neuville to the rail.
"That's the game" Neuville said with a wry smile, "That's the game"

Action was all-in preflop with Haxton ahead showing against Tom Hall's . Haxton had been short since the start of play, coming in today with just over 10 big blinds.
The flop was a kind one to Hall, with giving him a myriad of outs.
"Too many outs!" said Haxton.
But one of those outs came on the turn, with the meaning Haxton was drawing dead, with the board completing with the on the river.

Johnny Lodden opened to 20,000 and Diaz three-bet to 52,000. Jason Mercier, in the small blind, cold four-bet to 101,000 before Kanit five-bet jammed for his remaining 122,000. Lodden and Diaz folded and Mercier made the call.
Mercier:
Kanit:
"I'm racing," said Kanit as he turned over his cards, "In the €50k I won tens against jacks."
The flop was . "Ten of diamonds," came the request from Mercier.
It wasn't the ten of diamonds, but it was the . There were 14 outs for Kanit to fade on the river, but the wasn't one of them and he doubled up to just over 300,000.
